1: Garganta del Diablo

The Devil's Throat is a set of waterfalls 80 m high that are detached towards a narrow gorge, which concentrates the largest flow of the Iguazu Falls, being in turn these waterfalls the highest flow in the world.

At midday, follow your guide to the food center and enjoy a little rest and lunch (own expense) before taking the train to the Garganta del Diablo Station, further into the forest. Garganta del Diablo (The Devil's Throat) is the biggest fall in Iguazu, and the catwalks take you right on top of it! Be surprised and amazed by the strength and volume of water, which creates a permanent fog above the fall.

Departing from the Operative or Visitors Center, all-terrain trucks take visitors 5 km through the jungle along the Yacaratiá Trail, guided by bilingual (Spanish/English) experts. At Macuco Port, a short 100 m walk leads to a motorboat ride 6 km up the Iguazú Canyon, passing rapids and scenic waterfallsincluding views of Devil's Throat and a close approach to San Martín Falls. Ends at the dock near San Martín Island, with access to the Inferior Circuit. The route can be taken in reverse.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Straddling the border of Brazil and Argentina, the spectacular Iguazu Falls (also known as Foz do Iguaçu in Portuguese) comprise more than 200 separate cascades powered by the rushing Iguazu River. This world-famous natural wonder is not to be missed when visiting northern Argentina. After pickup at your Puerto Iguazu hotel, travel with a professional guide to the national park on the Argentinian side of the falls. Climb aboard the Train of the Forest to access a series of walking paths and footbridges that wind through the sprawling subtropical terrain.

Soak up different vantage points of the falls, from single delicate spouts to entire cliffs covered with curtains of rushing water. For the ultimate Iguazu experience, step out on an overhang above the thundering Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo), where the river makes its initial descent more than 200 feet (60 meters) down around a powerful, crescent-shaped cascade. From this vantage point, you can see across the river into Brazil.

Enjoy free time to explore the parks upper and lower sections, and choose from a series of hiking circuits that range from easy to challenging. Next up, ride on an ecological train through the Iguazu rainforest to access the viewing platform that overlooks the impressive Devils Throat, the most important and most imposing waterfall of all. 3: Iguazu Falls

After touring Garganta del Diablo (Devils Throat), you will continue to explore the walkways of either the lower or the upper circuit. Both of them are sure to impress you: The LOWER CIRCUIT, feature a more intimate experience with nature as you walk right into the forest to the heart of the falls, you will be able to feel the spirit of the jungle; its humidity, sounds and aromas. The UPPER CIRCUIT provides magnificent panoramic views from the top of the falls. This circuit is the perfect place to kick back and relax with the sound of water in the background and sunlight on your skin. The elevated walkways will take you over the drop line of several of the main jumps.

The tour starts at the Visitors Center, to introduce the Park. Then, you will be inside the National Park. Here we will do the walking tour along the boardwalk. Along this easy trek, there are several gorgeous panoramic views of the Falls and at the end of the catwalk you get a fantastic close-up view of the Devils' Throat and main waterfalls.

In order to visit the Devil's Throat, you must board the train at the Main Station or at the Cataratas Station, close to the Upper Circuit. For those who love trekking there is the one-kilometer-long Sendero Verde (Green Trail) that connects the Visitors Center to the Cataratas Station and to the Upper Circuit.

Then we will visit the Itaipu Hydroelectric Dam. It's the largest operation in the world and a bi-national enterprise developed by Brazil and Paraguay on the Parana River. The dam is responsible for supplying 90% of the energy consumed in Paraguay and 25% of all the demand in the Brazilian market.

As a work of engineering the dam was elected by the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE) as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

Once you are back, you will take the train to the Cataratas Station in order to start the Upper Path, a 800 mts walk that will take you to the rest of the most important falls of the park, such us Tres Hermanas and Bosetti.

After this walk, you will have time to have lunch at one of the restaurants located inside the park (not included).

Once lunch is over, the group will continue to take the Jungle-Truck and the boat ride.

Navigation in the semi-rigid (zodiacs) that approach the feet of the San Martín, Bosetti, Tres Mosqueteros and Garganta del Diablo falls and navigation downstream through the river rapids, arriving at Puerto Macuco (3 kilometers from the Falls).

Once you are back, you will take the train to the Cataratas Station in order to start the Upper Path, a 800 mts walk that will take you to the rest of the most important falls of the park, such us Tres Hermanas and Bosetti. The catwalks offer wonderful visits to the falls and the opportunity to be in contact with the fauna. From colorful insects such as dragonflies, butterflies, and beetles; the curious coatis and monkeys; a great variety of birds.

After this walk, you will have time to have lunch at one of the restaurants located inside the park (not included).

Once lunch is over the group will be led to the Low Path, a 1600 mts trail that takes you to the foot of the falls, an overwhelming experience.

The Bird Park is close to the Iguaçu National Park, which facilitates the movement and reduces the transportation time. Upon arriving there, we will travel through several trails inside the park to observe and interact with the local nature.

The Bird Park is a unique place, counting more than 200 animal species, many rescued from illegal traffic. The main idea is to make a Sanctuary for engendered species. Hosting the biggest Araras (Macaws) Sanctuary in South America, the Bird Park offers safe spaces for visitors to enter and observe the birds from very close and in liberty. Living in wide Vivarium, the birds can fly free and visitors can enter the vivarium without bothering the animals. Then a bus addresses you to start the walk in the park and will lead you to the beginning of the gateways where the route is 1,200 meters on the path Iguazú River Canyon. In this starting point of the route, there is a panoramic view of Argentine jumps, this is a stage suitable for taking pictures.

Moving in the route, the Iguazú River Canyon can be observed, the Salto Rivadavia and Three Musketeers, among others. Towards the end of the tour up to the lower lookout you will see Devil's Throat, this point is about 200 meters away.

Puerto Iguazu (Pass by)

After pick-up at your hotel, you will be driven to the world-famous Iguazu National Park, located on the Argentine side of the falls. Keep your eyes opened: You may spot some wildlife on the surrounding subtropical forest (toucans, parrots and coatis, just to name a few!)

1: Parque Nacional Iguazu

Iguazu Falls are one of the most spectacular natural attractions in South America and the world: they were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO! Upon arrival, you will show your entrance ticket and enter the park (entrance fee not included).

2: Devil's Throat

Next up, ride on an ecological train through the Iguazu rainforest to access the viewing platform that overlooks the impressive Devils Throat, the most important and most imposing waterfall of all. You will not cease to be amazed by the force of millions of litres of water falling at different heights! ** In case there are many people in the train to go to The Devils Throat, you will try to go first to less crowded places.

3: Iguazu Falls

After touring Garganta del Diablo (Devils Throat), you will continue to explore the walkways of either the lower or the upper circuit accompained by a local specialized guide. Both of them are sure to impress you: The LOWER CIRCUIT, feature a more intimate experience with nature as you walk right into the forest to the heart of the falls, you will be able to feel the spirit of the jungle; its humidity, sounds and aromas. The UPPER CIRCUIT provides magnificent panoramic views from the top of the falls. This circuit is the perfect place to kick back and relax with the sound of water in the background and sunlight on your skin. The elevated walkways will take you over the drop line of several of the main jumps.

Are you hungry? You will have some free time to have lunch (lunch not included).

4: Iguazu River

After touring the circuits, set off in an open-air truck through the lush tropical forest accompanied by a bilingual guide and then descend the stairs leading to the pier. Now, the moment you have been waiting for: Embark on an unforgettable boat adventure! Get up close to Tres Mosqueteros falls and enjoy amazing Devils Throat views crowning the canyon. To further add to your adrenaline, face the incomparable San Martín fall, the second biggest of all! Needless to say, you will get soaked! **You will navigate 6km (2 km of rapids).** Please check the restriction list below to verify you can embark on this adventure. **Boat ride may be affected by too low or too high river level (may occur about twice a year).

After enjoying the final views of the day, we will drive you back to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu.

You will be picked up at your hotel early morning (around 7:30 am). The vehicle will take you to the Iguazu National Park (Argentina), through National Route 12.
Arrival at Central Station where visitors will embark on the Ecological Train, which will take them to the Circuits.

Ecological Train: 3,6 km long ride from Central Station, next to the Visitors Center.
First stop: The Falls Station, from where one can access the Upper and Lower Circuits.
Last stop: The Devil's Throat Station, from where one can visit this magnificent Fall.
The train goes 20 km/hr fast, it is propelled by gas and has a capacity of 150 people maximum.
Upper Circuit: with pathways, balconies, and resting places that give spectacular panoramic views of the Falls. It is 650 meters long and from this Circuit, one can see the Dos Hermanas, Chico, Adan and Eva, Bernabe Mendez, and Mbigua Falls.
Lower Circuit: another pathway with balconies that lead to the San Martin, Dos Hermanas, Alvar Nunez, and Bosetti Falls. It is 1700 meters long.
Devil's Throat: this pathway is 1.130 meters long and crosses the Upper Iguazu River Delta, till reaching the Devil's Throat Balcony, facing the widest fall from this Park.
Once at Devil's Throat Station and after walking on the pathway through the exuberant jungle, we will arrive at the impressive Devil's Throat Balcony, the widest Fall of 72 meters high and a water flow of 1700 mts3/sec on average.

Back to the Ecological Train to reach the Falls Station, from where we'll enter the Upper and Lower Circuit, visiting the Dos Hermanas, Mbigua, Chico, Ramirez, Bosetti y and the breathtaking San Martin Falls, among others.

Great Adventure Excursion: This excursion combines the experience of the jungle and the waterfalls. It consists of an 8 km route along the Yacaratia trail, within the Argentine National Park, in all-terrain vehicles. In this section, visitors have the opportunity to interpret the natural riches present in the Park, accompanied by multilingual guides.
Then, at the jungle base of Puerto Macuco, visitors walk about 200 meters and descend stairs to the floating dock, where they embark on semi-rigid rubber boats to navigate 6 km through the Lower Iguazu River Canyon, with a 2 km stretch of rapids.

Entering the area of the waterfalls, the set of Brazilian and Argentine waterfalls is observed, to then reach the point of maximum emotion when achieving a fantastic approach to the waterfalls, a unique experience of proximity to the waterfalls. The approach is made facing the San Martin waterfall, the second largest and the largest that a boat can approach. The total duration is 2 hours approx.

Then you return to Puerto Macuco, where you will board the vehicle again to return to the meeting point.
