WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Playa Conchal

We'll stop at Playa Puerto Viejo, the southern point of one of Guanacaste coast's most beautiful beaches - Playa Conchal. Keep your eye out for howler monkeys in the trees near the entrance. And if you want, walk along the soft white sand and take a refreshing dip in the the clear turquoise water.

2: Playa Zapotillal

We'll then head over to a secluded beach called Playa Mina (or Playa Minas). You won't find many tourists here. Look out for wandering iguanas in the shade of the trees as well as hermit crabs on the sand. Be prepared for a spectacular sunset if you come during this time.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Playa Avellana

We'll stop at 2 beaches that are close in proximity to each other. Both beaches fall under the larger umbrella of Playa Avellana but are 2 separate beaches.

The first is Playa Pinilla - a small but beautiful white sand beach that's perfect for a swim and a bit of sunbathing. About as chill a place as you can imagine.

Then we'll head a bit further south to Playa Avellanas, where the sand is smooth and the water is fine. It's a wonderful beach for surfing, bodyboarding, and even fishing. Take a leisurely stroll along the long stretch of white sand beach.

2: Playa Negra

1: Parque Nacional Rincon de la Vieja

National Park Hike With our bilingual naturalist guide, you'll walk 3.5-km (2 miles) in Las Pailas circular path through the tropical forest to enjoy the best views of the volcano, incredible nature, volcanic activity, and wildlife. The park is home to more than 300 species of birds, and many other animals, such as armadillos, bays, iguanas, coatis and white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, turkeys, and much more. You will stop to view the volcanic activity including bubbling mud pots, fumaroles, and a mini crater. The Las Pailas sector spectacularly shows the power of the Rincon de la Vieja volcano, the most active and largest volcano in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Steam and sulfur come from natural fumaroles of the yellow and rusty soil. Witness clay pails in various shades of brown with boiling volcanic water, fine gray volcanic mud bubbles and explosions in large pails. This volcano is like no other in Costa Rica.

Enjoy a wonderful day on the beaches of Tamarindo and experience pura vida with your guide who will organize everything for you. This is about a 7-hour excursion, beginning at 12:30pm. Stop at the shops to buy things for a mini picnic (not included) in Matapalo, then get to Pirates Bay. Embark on a unique journey with us as we take you to some special areas here in Tamarindo. En route, we'll stop at a local grocery store for your convenience. Here, you can stock up on refreshments like water, juices, and snacks (not included) for a fun picnic experience. After, we will venture 30 minutes north to the pristine Pirates Bay. This hidden gem boasts crystal-clear waters, white sandy beaches, and a diverse array of flora and fauna. Our day includes visits to three beaches, with the second beach being an optional gem accessible only through a scenic hike in the mountains. Upon reaching our third and final beach destination, we'll set up camp. Optional activities include snorkeling, a historical exploration of an old pirates' cave, and any other beach activity you may choose to do. As the sun sets, we'll treat you to a delectable selection of shrimp or beef skewers, complemented by a refreshing beverage of your choice, perhaps a Mojito. The evening continues with a nice bonfire, where we'll prepare s'mores and hangout before concluding our adventure. Join us for a day filled with fun and relaxation!
