From the capital airport, you will be transported to Antigua (was the colonial Spanish capital of Central America, in the central highlands of Guatemala; known for its preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture as well as a number of ruins of colonial churches, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site). Next, a private transfer will take you to Chichicastenango (a town, on west-central Guatemala, surrounded by valleys with mountains serrating the horizons, giving you the feeling of a town isolated in time and space from the rest of the country. It is home to one of the largest and vibrant outdoor markets in Central America; full of colorful Mayan textiles, traditional wooden boxes handicrafts, food, flowers, pottery, condiments, medicinal plants, candles and intricate jade jewelry, -on Thursdays and Sundays-). Lastly, be transported to Guatemala City (the best largest city in Central America; and the political, cultural, and economic center of the country. Guatemala
Guatemala is a magical country in the Mayan heartland of Central America. Indigenous Guatemalan culture is alive and well in the ancient ruins of Tikal, the Mayan/Catholic rituals and open market of Chichicastenango, and the blazing colors of everyday Mayan dress. The colonial town of Antigua, and Lake Atitlan, viewed by many as the most beautiful lake in the world, are two destinations guaranteed to enlighten the soul.
