Lima

Lima is a sophisticated and cosmopolitan city that has retained much of its classic colonial architecture and pre-Columbian archaeological sites, that features many of South America's most beautiful historic museums, churches and cathedrals. The city is alive with activity in its trendy neighborhoods like Miraflores, the beach fronts of Costa Verde and Barranco, and the upscale boutiques, massive shopping plazas, and exclusive shops.

The main attraction here is the stunningly beautiful Lake Titicaca, and its fabled islands including the floating islands of the Uru people created entirely of dried totora reeds. Each island is unique in culture and customs, and many can be visited during day trips.
