Day Number 1 in Leticia

Welcome to Leticia! Upon arrival, you will go through customs and immigration. Should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit immigration. Arrive at your hotel, check in and head out to see the city! There are many exciting things to explore in Leticia.

Start your afternoon with a walk through the botanical gardens and trails of Mundo Amazonico. A handicraft market and a small Eco spa are available here for relaxation. The purpose of Mundo Amazonico is to preserve some 700 species of flowers and the fauna of the Amazon. Stop for a delicious lunch at your leisure. Afterwards, transport by taxi to Santander Park for bird watching as the parrots return to the park at sunset. Across the street from the park is Iglesia Nuestra Senora de La Paz. You can watch the parrots from the bell tower which overlooks the city and the Amazon river. Enjoy a delicious Amazon supper in a local restaurant or bar. A wide variety of seafood is served in this area, including Piranha, Colombian food and steak. Return to the hotel for the night.

Day Number 2 in Leticia

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel at the agreed time (if offered), and then begin a journey through the Amazon River in a private boat (booked separately); visit the Victoria Regia, the Macedonia Indigenous Community (Tikuna Natives), where you can take an interesting craft workshop with `palo de sangre,` chambira, yanchama, seeds and natural dyes; continue to Puerto Narino and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Tarapoto Lake where you will have the possibility to observe gray and pink dolphins, enjoy the landscape and admire the wildlife and culture of the region. At the end of the visit return to the hotel for the night.

Additional Days in Leticia

If you desire, take a private boat to visit the scenic Amacayacu National Park, one of Colombia`s most diverse national parks. You will have the opportunity to observe a wide range of wildlife in it`s own natural setting, such as pink dolphins, primates, sloths, piranhas, alligators and endangered animals such astapirs, jaguars, manatees, and giant river otters, as well as about 500 species of birds.

There are over 1300 types of flora, including giant lily pads, exquisite lotus flowers and enormous Ceiba trees. There are numerous activities including hiking, tree climbing, canoeing, crossing a suspension bridge, and see the breathtaking beauty of the waterfalls. It`s like a day in paradise. Your Last Day in Leticia

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel at the agreed time (if offered), and then depart for the airport for your flight home. Please remember to leave enough time to return your rental motorcycles or bicycles before your flight out.
