On foot

Llandudno is a very walkable town, and you will find yourself in the mix of everything no matter which direction you walk in the center of town. It should be no more than a mile and a half between any two distances in the center of town. The pedestrian-only Llandudno Promenade runs parallel to The Parade, the road that runs along Llandudno Bay and the Irish Sea north toward North Shore Beach, the town`s most popular beach. The Parade is where many accommodations options are located, located in the most prime area in town. North Shore Beach is located north of the intersection of two popular streets in town, The Parade and Gloddaeth Street. Gloddaeth Street connects North Shore Beach with the quieter West Shore Beach which sits on Conwy Bay. Most streets, including Gloddaeth Street and Mostyn Street, are walkable. We would not recommend walking to West Shore Beach from North Shore Beach if you have trouble walking longer distances, but it is definitely doable for those in good health.

By bus

Arriva Buses Wales (www.arrivabus.co.uk/wales) links Llandudno with Llandudno Junction, Conwy, Bangor, Rhyl, and other adjacent towns. These services are geared toward commuters more than tourists, but stop at frequent intervals around town. These are the routes you will most likely ride if you get on a bus in Llandudno:

-Route 12: Rhyl Bus Station to Llandudno Palladium
-Route 13: Prestatyn Bus Station to Llandudno Clifton Road
-Route 24: Colwyn Bay Railway Station to Llandudno Police Station
-Route 27: Old Colwyn St. David`s Road to Conwy Railway Station

By taxi

There are two taxi ranks in Llandudno, in front of The Palladium (7 Gloddaeth Street) and on the service road at Llandudno train station. Llandudno taxis come in many colors, similar to Caernarfon but unlike other Welsh cities. It is easy to hail a taxi from the street if the light on the roof is on, signifying a vacancy. Flagfall in Llandudno starts at £2.40, with £1.50 added for each 0.6 miles and 20p per minute of waiting time. Between midnight and 7 a.m., add £1.20 to the flagfall as a night surcharge. Most taxi journeys should cost £10 or under in and around Llandudno, and about £15 to Llandudno Junction and Conwy. By car

For those who want to explore the countryside away from Llandudno, a car might be useful, but it is not necessary to have a car to visit Llandudno itself. You can explore the immediate area on foot, by bus, by taxi, and by train. For those who will have a car while in town, there are eight car parks here: Dale Road on the eastern side of the West Shore Beach Promenade; Ffordd Maelgwyn Road below Gloddaeth Avenue; Ffordd Efrog York Road north of Gloddaeth Street; Llandudno Town Hall; The Parade; Venue Cymru; Happy Valley/Y Fach; and the Great Orme Summit. The Maelgwyn Road, Venue Cymru, York Road, and Dale Road car parks are open 24 hours. 24-hour parking ranges from £4 to £10 daily depending on the car park.

Llandudno is located on the North Wales Expressway, which connects the town with Chester (England) and Wrexham to the east, and Caernarfon, Snowdonia National Park, and Holyhead to the west.

By bicycle

A bicycle is a great way to explore not just Llandudno, the Great Orme, and the Little Orme, but also areas adjacent to town, such as West Shore Beach, Llandudno Junction, and Conwy.
