City Center

Nagasaki`s city center is a bustling area filled with plenty of accommodations along with numerous transportation hubs for the city`s tram, bus and train stations. It is easy to navigate the city center on foot or by bicycle as the area is flat and many of the main tourist attractions can be reached easily. The Nagasaki River is a great place to walk around and get your bearings of the city, many stone bridges cross the river including the popular Megane-Bashi bridge also known as Spectacle Bridge which is the oldest bridge in the city. Many of the city`s cultural sites and attractions are located in this part of town as well as historic landmarks including the Nagasaki Prefectural Office. The cosmopolitan city blends with the mountains which surround the city providing visitors with plenty of outdoor opportunities such as walking, hiking, biking, historical sites, temples and breathtaking scenery. There are many different restaurants found in the city center, as well as bars and nightlife attractions in a lively bustling atmosphere.
