The closest airport to Netanya is the Bean Gurion airport in Tel Aviv which is located 54 miles away from the city and takes around 45 minutes by car, or taxi. There are trains, shuttles, taxis and rental cars at the airport.

If you have not booked a private transfer through us then you have a few options from the airport to your hotel in Netanya. There are trains at the airport that depart from Level G in Terminal 3 (on the Arrival’s level) There are two trains every hour from 6 am until 12 am and one train every hour from 12 am until 6 am. Tickets can be purchased from ticket machines and the train ride takes around 40 minutes to reach Netanya. Keep in mind trains and most transportation stop running on Friday afternoons until Saturday evenings due to Shabbat.

There are taxis at the airport with taxi stands located on the ground level of Terminal 3, a taxi will cost approximately 200NIS. Uber and Gett are alternatives to taxis in Tel Aviv where you order your ride through the company`s app. Simply download Uber or Gett from your smartphone and enter in your pickup and drop-off destination, payment is processed via credit card on the app.

There are several international rental car agencies such as Hertz, Avis, Budget, and Sixt which can be found at the airport. The car rental reservation desks are located inside the arrivals hall.

Netanya’s train station has connections from Tel Aviv and Haifa, the station is just outside of the city center and not really within walking distance. There is a car rental agency close by as well as buses and taxis available to reach your hotel. The Netanya “Beit Yehoshua” train station is located in the southern part of the city and more conveniently located in the city center.

The Central Netanya Bus Station is located in the downtown area about 10 minutes from the beach, the station is served by buses from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and other cities. There are some taxis outside the station or the city center hotels and beach hotels that may be reached on foot.

The main forms of transportation in Netanya are buses and taxis. Buses travel to all the suburbs and several express buses operate between Netanya and Jerusalem. Buses no. 601 and 605 leave Netanya to Tel Aviv every 15 minutes throughout the day until 7 pm, the last bus departs at 11 pm.

You can rent a car in Tel Aviv and travel to Netanya which would make the 54-mile journey more enjoyable and you can make stops along the way and take in the passing scenery. The main coastal highway is Hwy.2 which connects Tel Aviv and Haifa, Hwy.4 is the wider highway that runs parallel and runs inland, Netanya can be reached from both Hwy. 3 and 4.

Taxis are available in the city 24 hours a day, they can be found in the city center around the train and bus stations or called and ordered over the phone.

Walking around the small downtown area of the city is easily done. The impressive Netanya Square is a popular area in the city, the fountains are a gathering place for families with children, and the fountains run day and night when colorful lights fill the water. Netanya’s main attractions are the beautiful beaches which are perfect for a morning stroll and a romantic sunset romantic walk to soak up the sand, sea, and views.

There are bicycle rentals available in Netanya from many different locations. There is a bike park located along highway 57 in the middle of an old industrial zone covering 4 hectares, with bicycle rental points. The tracks here are also available for a leisurely ride, as well as racing and professional cyclist opportunities.

Netanya is a very safe destination for tourists with crimes against visitors being very rare. Although the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians is ongoing, most travelers will see few sights of it aside from Israeli soldiers going about their business. There is no need for travelers to take any further precautions when traveling here other than common sense in a foreign country. Be aware of pickpockets in crowded areas especially on board public transport. Keep your valuables close, be aware of your surroundings, and don’t wander around alone at night.
