Tortuguero National Park

Tortuguero is one of the most visited National Parks in Costa Rica, and hosts species of amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals in the hundreds, as well as, literally, thousands of different trees and plants. There are no roads leading here, so visitors arrive either by boat or plane, which has helped to preserve the area's pristine environment, and eco-systems. Tortuguero's shoreline is also one of the world's most important nesting sanctuaries for Sea Turtles.
