Chatan

Chatan is a beachside town located in the Nakagami District of Okinawa on the islands west coast. About half of the land in here is covered by US military bases and features the Mihama American Village, a popular entertainment district that sits adjacent to Sunset beach. The village is filled with American themed restaurants and stores along with attractions such as the iconic giant Ferris wheel, a bowling alley, a movie theatre and live outdoor concerts. The east side of the neighborhood is made up of limestone hills, there are two rivers that run through the west and the area is divided up into six districts.

Ginowan

Ginowan City is located in the south, on the western coast of Okinawa Island bordering Chatan. It sits about halfway between Okinawa City and Naha City with about 40% of the land here occupied by US military bases. This coastal neighborhood features a sloping coastal terrace made up of limestone cliffs with superb tropical beaches. Facilities found in the area include the Ginowan Kaihin Park, Tropical Beach, Ginowan Mariana and the Okinawa Convention center. Luxury hotels such as the Laguna Garden Hotel and the Moon Ocean Ginowan Hotel are located here along with shopping centers, beachfront restaurants, and bars. The Okinawa International Movie Festival is held at the Convention center every year in March and the Ryukyu Kaiensai Fireworks Festival takes place in April.

Kunigami

Kunigami is a small village in the Kunigami District in Okinawa, Kunigam translates to `head of the country` which refers to its location at the northern tip of the Island. This is a quiet area with practically deserted beaches featuring crystal clear waters. The villages are very traditional and most houses here still feature `akagawara` red tile roofs, local farmers and fisherman reside here and the village has a very traditional feel with some of the islands best scenic beauty. Cape Hedo and Meuchi Banta sit along the northern coastline along with other clifftop areas with breathtaking views.

Naha

Naha is the capital city of Okinawa and the islands central business district filled with accommodations, restaurants, shops, malls, bars, clubs and markets along with some of the most popular tourist attractions in Okinawa including the Shuri Castle. Kokusai Street is set in the heart of downtown an iconic shopping district with a mile long street of shops and eateries and Naminoue Beach is the city`s only beach destination. The Yui Monorail runs around Naha city and provides a great way to explore the capital and its attractions. This is a port city boasting three ports where ferries depart from Motobu in the north and to the surrounding islands. Naha is also the best place for evening entertainment on the island with a wide array of vibrant nightlife options including restaurants, bars, clubs, and pubs. The area is also home to many of Okinawa`s tourist attractions including the Prefectural Museum and the Pottery Museum.

Onna

Onna village is located in the Kunigami District on the west coast of Okinawa Island, a top resort area spanning the coastline for 17 miles with spectacular views at Manzamo and Maeda Point which are both perched on the limestone cliff tops. The Sekiryo Mountains and Mount Onna which is the highest point in the village are located here and the coastal area is part of the Okinawa Kaigan Quasi-National Park. This popular resort destination features stunning white sand beaches with beautiful multi shades of blue water with big names resorts such as the Renaissance Okinawa Resort, the Rizzan Sea Park Hotel, and the Sunmarina Hotel. Cape Maeda is a famous diving destination where the tropical waters are decorated with coral reefs and vibrant marine life. Blue Cave is a magical sea cave with natural blue lighting which is great for snorkeling adventures. Cape Menza is famous for its dramatic cliffs and is one of the best places to capture a sunset on the island. There are restaurants and shopping areas along the coastline providing some of the best views around.
