OVERNIGHT TRAIN ACCOMMODATIONS
Amenities and services vary from one train to another, so make sure to review the detailed description when booking.
Economy Class: In the Economy category, you will find the simplest and most economical types of night accommodations: reclining seats, couchette compartments with 4 to 6 beds, or sleeping compartments with 3 to 4 beds. The difference between a couchette and a sleeping compartment is that a compartment is gender specific, whereas a couchette is a mixed gender accommodation. Couchettes are perfect for the budget-conscious and are offered for 4-6 travelers. These cabins have two sets of 2 or 3 beds; bunk bed style. If your traveling party does not fill the couchette, other travelers of mixed gender can be reserved in the same couchette compartment. The doors to a couchette cannot be locked and toilet facilities are located at the end of the car.
Comfort Class: In the Comfort category, you'll find single or double sleeping compartments. Double sleeping compartments are gender specific, unless the traveling party fills the compartment. These compartments have upper and lower beds and a washbasin. And they can be locked, offering complete privacy. Breakfast is included in these compartments on select overnight trains. Toilet facilities are located at the end of the car.
Premier Class: Premier accommodations can include single or double sleeping compartments, and on a few select routes, triple sleeping compartments. Double and Triple sleeping compartments are gender specific, unless the traveling party fills the compartment. These compartments have upper and lower beds, and private shower and toilet facilities. Perfect for couples traveling together, these compartments can also be locked for complete privacy. Breakfast is included in these compartments, and on some routes dinner as well.
