Day 1: Tambopata

Welcome Peru! Upon arrival, should you opt to purchase a transfer to your hotel; a representative will be waiting for you as you exit baggage. Arrive at your hotel, check in and do not give in to jet lag! There are many exciting things to explore at Tambopata.

On this first day, we recommend you settle into the hotel and enjoy the glorious surroundings. Tambopata National Reserve is one of the most biodiverse places on earth located alongside the Madre de Dios River. Records include over 700 species of birds, 1200 species of butterfly, 90 species of mammals, 120 species of reptiles and amphibians and innumerable species of insect. Over 400 species of birds have been recorded. There are some centers dedicated to the research of eagles, snakes and all the animals that live on the Amazon River.

Day 2: Tambopata

Begin your activities amid of the Amazonian Forest with the canopy, climbing, crossing a hanging bridge and zip line. Then enjoy a delicious lunch and enjoy a restful break. In the afternoon, kayak on Madre de Dios river where you can swim in its waters to refresh yourself. Afterwards, visit the famous Monkey Island where you can see the great variety of species of these animals and enjoy their funny faces and antics. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner and have a short walk to see nocturnal birds before turning in for the day.

Day 3: Tambopata

After a hearty breakfast, start your day boarding a boat that will take you to the checkpoint of Tambopata National Reserve. From there you will walk until you get to the shore of the scenic Sandoval Lake, where you can see an abundance of flora and fauna and you can enjoy a tranquil and relaxing bath in its waters. Afterwards, taste a traditional Jungle lunch, you will take a serene boat ride around Sandoval Lake and observe different birds in flight such as the hoatzins, anhingas and possibly we’ll observe some playful river otters. After this incredible experience, return to the hotel for dinner and rest for the evening.

Additional Days: Tambopata

After a delicious breakfast, visit a Ese Eja indigenous village where you will enjoy a demonstration of their customs, and traditions. This indigenous village makes interesting products with rustic materials, and we can help them by buying their products. Board the boat and go up the creek for a fishing activity in the rustic way, where you can fish for different types such as damselfishes and sardines which you can taste in your lunch.

Or board a boat sailing the Madre de Dios River to reach a peaceful place where you can see the arrival of a variety of parrots and Macaw Clay Lick, your guide will explain about the habit of these birds. You will have the opportunity to film or take pictures of this incredible activity of these species as well as the sunset on Tambopata.

Your Last Day in Tambopata

Depart from your hotel to the airport for your return flight home. We recommend that you purchase a private transfer to the airport, if so the representative will meet you at your hotel with plenty of time to get you to the airport for your flight out.
