New Plymouth is very well known for its West Coast beauty and stunning ocean views as far as the eye can see. The best way to understand why so many people love the area so much is to tackle the Coastal Walkway and pockets of cool—a surprisingly contemporary art gallery, street art, record stores and artsy design shops, a sourdough bakery in a shipping container hidden down a colorful alleyway, and some excellent cafes for coffee and brunch. Believe it or not, the New Plymouth Coastal Walkway is kind of a staple in New Plymouth featuring lots of fun sculptures and picturesque coastline along the way. The whole walkway is concrete which is also perfect for cycling.
