Shizuoka is located between Tokyo and Osaka, has Mt. Fuji and other natural attractions, historical spots, and a lot of great dining. As a matter of fact, the prosperity of the town greatly improved in the early 1600s when Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate, made the local Sumpu Castle his retirement home.
