Magong may not be as popular as other cities in Taiwan, but don’t let that fool you. Magong City is a smaller but beautiful upcoming tourist destination that is worth a visit. You can definitely plan a few hours of a side trip here while traveling to Taichung or Kaohsiung. You might wish to revisit it someday again, to take a break and relax at Magong City. Magong is the only city in the offshore Penghu Islands of Taiwan. The city has many historical sites tracing back to the Ming Dynasty. Magong is the largest municipality in the main island of the Penghu Islands, and Magong Matou is the main port of entry and exit of Penghu, the scale is extremely large.
