The best time of year to visit Nepal is during the spring and autumn months when the weather is moderate and stable boasting clear skies and comfortable temperatures. However, Nepal is also great during the winter months for skiing and hiking the majestic mountains. January and February are the coldest months with temperatures dropping at night, this time of year tends to be quieter which is rewarding in many ways with beautiful vistas and a serene atmosphere. Springtime brings beautiful blooming rhododendrons, warmer temperatures making outdoor activities enjoyable, there are also several festivals this time of year including the Nepalese New Year in April. May brings the heat and humidity to Nepal and the monsoon season arrives in June with cloudy skies and rain. The `rain shadow` of the Himalayas seen in Upper Mustang or Nar Phu makes for magical trekking during this time of year. Fall is another popular season for trekking with stable weather and moderate temperatures usually donning clear skies. This is also peak season with more fun festivals like Dashain held in October and Tihar in November.
