After morning pickup from a handy location in central Adelaide, board your air-conditioned coach for your city tour.

Roll through the cultural precinct of Adelaide, including the North Terrace, Adelaide Botanic Gardens, the National Wine Centre, and the Botanic Parkhome to the Adelaide Zoo and Bicentennial Conservatory. It's now time to climb back on the bus as we head back towards
Adelaide. But we're taking the scenic route so you can gaze out at the Adelaide
Coastline, as we journey towards our final featured destination of the day -
Adelaide's beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg

WHAT TO EXPECT

After pickup in Adelaide, relax during the scenic 30-minute drive to Hahndorf.

As you exit the city, pass through the cultural precinct of the North Terrace and head up Mount Lofty. Stop at the summit, Adelaides highest peak, and get great photo ops of the city, coast, and St. Vincent Gulf. Continue down the road, which winds through the villages of Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate and Bridgewater. You'll see the water wheel of the historic Bridgewater Mill along the way. Your guide shares commentary about the sights during the drive. Stop at the Beerenberg Farm Shop for time to taste and purchase some products (own expense).

Upon arrival in Hahndorf, spend the afternoon exploring the town independently. Australia's oldest German settlement features locally made foods including classic German dishes, a pleasant tree-lined main street, and shops with arts and crafts. Your tour includes tastings of traditional German beer or afternoon tea at the Hahndorf Inn Hotel.

Thorngrove Manor House (Pass by)

Drive past Thorngrove Manor. Built to look like a baroque castle, this lavish, high-concept hotel is 1.5 km from the Mount Lofty Botanical Gardens and 9 km from the 835-hectare Belair National Park.

2: Bridgewater Mill

Bridgewater Mill and Waterwheel. Set in the charming town of Bridgewater in the rambling scenery of the Adelaide Hills, this old mill dates back to 1860 when it was built by John Dunn, a mill engineer from Devonshire. He built a number of flour mills throughout Australia, but the Bridgewater Mill is by far his most famous. (Please note water wheel is not in operation and only a ststic display)
Situated on Mount Barker Road, the mill boasts an impressive waterwheel which was built back in the mid 1800s. Dunn chose this particular spot for the mill because it was a prime hotspot for catching traffic that passed through the area.
In 1986, the mill was bought by a consortium that renovated it and integrated an award-winning winery into the building: Petaluma wines. Today, it is both a popular restaurant and a wine cellar, drawing in crowds looking for cultural pursuits in the Adelaide area.

The redeveloped Adelaide Oval offers a unique blend of new and old, carefully integrating the latest in stadium design with famous features such as the heritage scoreboard, century-old Moreton Bay Fig trees, the grassed northern mound and more. These elements form an embedded museum, with integrated points of interest and historical features bringing the whole stadium to life.

Access restricted areas and experience the thunderous roar of the crowd as you take to the ground through the interactive players race. See where some of the worlds greatest bands have entertained sold-out crowds and step inside living history as you explore inside the iconic scoreboard.

Adelaide Oval Tours are led by expert volunteer guides who will share captivating tales of new and old Adelaide Oval. Each guide has their own unique stories and tour paths change seasonally - theres always a new experience waiting to be had!

The tours last approximately 90 minutes at a steady walking pace and may include the use of steps, stairs, ramps, escalators and lifts. Comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothes are strongly recommended as the path includes external areas.

While at the Oval, take time to wander through the famed Bradman Collection, on loan from the State Library of South Australia.
