Meet us at our purpose built dive centre in the heart of Byron Bay, where you will complete pre-tour paperwork, be fitted for your dive equipment (if required), briefed by one of our skippers and transported to our launch site. It is then only a short 5-10 minute boat ride to Julian Rocks, keep an eye out for dolphins and whales (when in season).
Your dive will be guided by one of our friendly dive guides, who will point out all the amazing marine life to you, such as turtles, wobbegong sharks, rays and many different species of fish. After your dive we will bring you back to the dive centre, where there are hot showers and the crew will help you fill out your log book and identify the marine life you saw. We pick you up from your Byron Bay accommodation and drive to the special platypus area. From there we start our 90-minute easy walk along the creek looking for platypus.
Your guide will lead you at a gentle pace, showing you what to look for and sharing insights about this much-loved and quirky Australian animal.
We usually see one or two platypus, loads of birds and sometimes even koalas. After watching the platypus have their breakfast we relax with ours a picnic by the creek before returning to Byron Bay.
We cant guarantee platypus sightings on this tour, but dont worry. If we dont see them we take you on another day, free.

Groups are small (max 8) to be able to really soak in the peacefulness. You'll feel far away from the hustle & bustle immersed in nature. We'll share information about what we see & point out wildlife along the way.
After a brief stop for some water (supplied), we head off again down the tunnel of trees where mother nature does all the talking.
On our return, there'll be refreshing cold water & homemade snacks. Here, most of our customers are surprised they're still dry & comment "It was easier than I expected!" Later, well send you a link to your free photos.

The school meets and exceeds stringent safety and quality standards. All the coaches are qualified lifeguards with many years of coaching experience. Our lessons are specifically designed to teach you to surf at your own pace in a relaxed environment to build further self-confidence so you can continue in the sport of surfing and feel confident in the water.
You will learn surfing techniques and ocean safety with our qualified surf coaches & surf life savers. All instructors have vast knowledge of the local area and will only conduct lessons in surf conditions in waist deep water with easy and to ride waves in your first lesson.
At Soul Surf School we deliver lessons to adults, families, couples, groups and kids 5yrs old and above.
If you're an INTERMEDIATE or ADVANCED surfer and/or want to have the lesson tailored to your specific needs, please give us a call for further advice.
