WHAT TO EXPECT

When visiting the Gold Coast, enjoy a close encounter with some of Australia's amazing animals at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Your admission ticket allows for a leisurely visit to a centrally located oasis.

Stroll through the exhibits in the 67-acre (27 hectare) refuge that is home to more than 1,400 animals. Currumbin features Australian natives such as the koala, echidna, wombat, Tasmanian devil, kangaroo, emu and dingo, and the animals live in bushland and rainforest settings that resemble their natural habitat. Interactive displays and keeper presentations provide a closer look at the critters, including lorikeet feeds that take place twice per day, free-flight bird shows, and reptile shows. You can also see an Aboriginal dance performance.

Wander through the Lost Valley as you are taken to a journey through the ancient supercontinent Gondwana. Immerse yourself in an environment as it existed millions of years ago. Explore this forgotten world and see unique flora and wildlife including free-flying birds, exotic reptiles, lemurs, cotton-top tamarins, red pandas, capybaras, and much more.

With over 27 hectares of wide-open spaces featuring lush Eucalyptus trees & rainforest, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a great day out for the young, & young at heart. You will get to see many of Australias iconic species displayed in their natural habitat.

We are a for purpose charity that invests all proceeds back in to caring for wildlife, assisting with running our wildlife hospital, & taking part in 15 conservation projects to ensure wildlife for future generations.

Take in a show or two, get up close to some iconic Australian wildlife, cool off at Wild Island Adventure Splash Zone, ride the miniature train, explore the Extinction Trail and visit Lost Valley.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Hop aboard for your minibus transfer at 8:45am (Gold Coast) or 9am (Byron Bay) and soak up the scenery on the short drive to Fingal Head. After meeting your instructor, spend time getting familiar with the equipment and learning about ocean safety and surf etiquette, before heading out to the beach. Begin your first lesson on the beach, where youll master basic positions and learn how to stand up on the board. Once youre ready, head into the sea to try out your skills on some real waves!

Break for lunch at the nearby Fingal Lighthouse and look out over the ocean as you tuck into a healthy lunch. You might even spot a pod of dolphins playing in the waters below. After lunch and some free time to stroll the sands and enjoy the magnificent views, get ready for your second surf class. Depending on your ability, this is the time to catch your first wave, improve the skills you learned in your first lesson or challenge yourself to some bigger waves. Be sure to strike some poses for the tour photographer along the way!

After an action-packed day of surfing, jump back in the minivan for the return journey and arrive back at around 4:30pm.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Leave the Gold Coast behind and paddle into the beautiful Broadwater with our caring guides. This guided kayak and snorkel tour to Wave Break Island is a fun, nature-filled adventure, perfect for first-timers and ocean lovers alike.

After a warm welcome and safety briefing, you'll paddle past sandbanks and skyline views, with seabirds and stingrays often nearby. Your guide shares stories of the Broadwater and the incredible sea life that lives below.

At Wave Break Island, enjoy a short bushwalk to a rocky reef. After a quick snorkel briefing, slip into the water to explore this subtropical underwater world, or relax on the sand while your guide takes photos.

Then its time for a picnic-style break with tasty, locally sourced snacks by the sea, a highlight for many guests. On the way back, nature might surprise you: dolphins, soldier crabs, or rays sometimes make a special appearance.

This is a welcoming Gold Coast experience with good vibes, great guides, and memorable moments on the water and for you to take home.

Conditions vary with weather and tides. Early morning tours are usually calmer and best suited for beginners and non-swimmers, while afternoon tours can be more physically demanding. This is an active experience, and participants should feel comfortable completing the tour. Refunds or rescheduling are not available if a guest is unable to continue due to fitness or ability.

Maximum weight limit per double kayak is 230kg and 110Kg per single

Minimum age: 4 years. Guests under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Under 18s require a parent or guardian signature

Water visibility and wildlife spotting may be affected by the force of nature (e.g. winds, rainfall, tidal currents) and Seaway Kayaking Tours is not responsible should this occurs.
