Hobart
Hobart is Australia's city on the edge of the world, packed with world class art, waterfront restaurants and mountains with breathtaking views. Founded in 1803 it is a beautiful city, stretching out along either shore of the Derwent River as it opens to meet the Tasman Sea. Hobart has a rich and diverse culture and offers many attractions of historic and cultural interest. Browse the markets and art galleries along the waterfront, the cosmopolitan dining of North Hobart, and the historic charm of Battery Point. The western shore is dominated by Mt Wellington, with its imposing summit cliffs known as the Organ Pipes. Hobart is also a good base from which to explore the rest of the island.
