Battambang is the largest city in northwest Cambodia, and is one of the most prosperous parts of the country outside of Phnom Penh. Attractions in the area include many Buddhist temples, some of which are 1,000 years old. Wat Ek Phnom and Prasat Banan are among the most popular. Also popular with tourists are norry rides, which are wooden platforms (and not much else!) improvised to run on train tracks at speeds up to 30 miles per hour. The bamboo train is Battambang's most famous attraction and it is definitely worth the journey. Consisting of a small, motorised bamboo platform covered with a woven mat and a few multicoloured cushions to sit on, the train is controlled by a man steering a wooden pole.
From historical sites, beautiful countryside to the coastline, you will enjoy a complete overview along Cambodia!. Start in Siem Reap (a strikingly memorable place that will take you back on time and offer you a pick of the ancient Khmer civilization thanks to their many Angkor temples); then, visit Battambang (Cambodia's second most populous city and tourist destination due to the many nearby ancient temples, buddhist shrines and the infamous bamboo railway). From there, travel to Phnom Penh (the Cambodian capital is known for both its beautiful architecture, both ancient and from French colonial times); and finally, is Sihanoukville (known for its beaches, tropical islands and the mangrove jungles of Ream National Park). Traveling between cities by private transfer is very convenient, as it gives you the opportunity to observe the beautiful countryside. This is a flexible vacation package.
