Visit the darker and more tragic side of Cambodian history at the Genocide Museum. The new Museum was formally a girl's school but became the site of imprisonment, torture, and holding enclosure before being transported to the Killing Fields.

2: Choeung Ek Genocidal Center

45 minutes away is the Killing Fields, the second significant historical site of the Khmer Rouge Genocide in Phnom Penh. Following this we will return to the city and have lunch.

3: Independence Monument

Following the visit to the Killing Fields there will be a lunch break either at the Killing Fields or in the city after the 45 minute drive back before resuming the tour. 1: Royal Palace

The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda are two of the most striking buildings in the capital and considered as some of the finest examples of Khmer architecture. They were initially constructed in 1866 by the French. The Royal Palace is home to the current King Sihamoni. The neighboring Silver Pagoda stands out in its own distinctive way. The floor consists of 5,329 solid silver tiles to which the building owes its name. The building houses many gold and jeweled Buddha statues including the highly prized 17th century baccarat crystal Buddha. Other important buildings that can be found within the compound include Wat Preah Keo Morokat, where Royal ceremonies are performed, and stupas such as King Ang Doung Stupa the burial site of former King Norodom. (Open from 8.00am to 10:30am and 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Women should cover their shoulders and both men and women should cover their knees).

The museum houses one of the world's largest collections of Khmer art, including sculptural, Khmer ceramics, bronzes, and ethnographic objects. Its collection includes over 14,000 items, from prehistoric times to periods before, during and after the Khmer Empire, which at its height stretched from Thailand, across present-day Cambodia, to southern Vietnam.
The National Museum of Cambodia is next to the Royal University of Fine Arts is located on the west side of the museum. The museum buildings, inspired by Khmer temple architecture, were constructed between 1917 and 1924, the museum was officially inaugurated in 1920, and it was renovated in 1968.

The Killing Fields are sites around Cambodia where altogether about 1.3 million people were killed and buried by the then government under the leadership of the Khmer Rouge and Prime Minister Pol Pot. These terrible crimes against humanity are known as the Cambodian genocide.
Most famous of these is Choeung Ek, a former orchard about 15 km from Phnom Penh, and now preserved as a museum for visitors to know and understand what happened during that tragic time. Choeung Ek was closely associated with the Tuol Sleng detention centre.

Wat Phnom is a Buddhist temple built on a tree-covered, man-made hill on the North side of the city. This is an historic and cultural landmark, and a place of tranquillity in the bustling city. 1: Choeung Ek Genocidal Center

Is the site of a former orchard and mass grave of victims of the Khmer Rouge killed between 1975 and 1979 in Dangkao Section, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, about 17 kilometers (11 mi) south of the Phnom Penh city center. It is the best-known of the sites known as the Killing Fields, where the Khmer Rouge regime executed over one million people between 1975 and 1979. Mass graves containing 8,895 bodies were discovered at Choeung Ek after the fall of the Khmer Rouge regime. Many of the dead were former political prisoners who were kept by the Khmer Rouge in their Tuol Sleng detention center and in other Cambodian detention centers. Today, Choeung Ek is a memorial, marked by a Buddhist stupa. The stupa has acrylic glass sides and is filled with more than 9,000 human skulls. Some of the lower levels are opened during the day so that the skulls can be seen directly. Many have been shattered or smashed in. Tourists are encouraged by the Cambodian government to visit Choeung Ek.

The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum or simply Tuol Sleng is a museum chronicling the Cambodian genocide. It is not far from S-21, drive about 15mins.That is call Russian market. This market look seem traditional market as the original name is Toul Tompong market. 1: Chambak Bet Meas Pagoda

After we pick you up from the hotel and have a short transfer to the starting point, we saddle up our bike and briefing the tour before paddle through local villages to discover the real local life who grow rice, vegetable, fishing, farming and have a short walk into the wet market where they open from 6am to 11am. Throughout in this market, we also have a chance to try some of local fruit, snack and dissert before we heading to the meditation center and Buddha monastery where we can learn more about the religions in Cambodia. Continuously, we cycle through the large paddy rice fields and across the manmade lake where they built during the Khmer Rouge regime.

2: Tonle Bati

biking through rural area of Cambodia and Khmer villages where youll explore beautiful of paddy rice fields, farmlands, natural lake and visit the Ta Prohm Temple which was built during the late 12th century and early 13th century by king Jayavarman VII (AD 1181-1220) as a place for worship for Brahmans and Buddhists. Relaxing and refreshing in the breezy lake and delicious with local Khmer foods for your lunch in a picnic hut is a great expedition before we back by supported vehicle and visit the Killing Field where collectively more than a million people were killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime, during its rule of the country from 1975 to 1979, immediately after the end of the Cambodian Civil War (19701975).
