Starting the tour early, our guide will meet and pick you up in the lobby at 4:45am at your accommodation (Hotel or Guest House) and we will take you to buy temples pass along the way to temples then we go to watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat. After sunrise then return to your hotel for breakfast and we will start tour again after your breakfast.

Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world. It was built early in the 12th century. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious centre since its foundation. We will enter the great temple from the little-visited eastern side. We continue our journey on foot and creep through a jungle path to the North ancient library pool. Listen to the explanations of your expert guide, then spend time venturing into the central chambers of the temple, where your local guide will reveal the history, myths and stories depicted on the stone bas-reliefs (the longest stretch of bas-relief carvings in the world) then you will venture deep into the central chambers of this truly great temple. 2: Angkor Thom South Gate

The South Gate is one of the five gates of Angkor Thom (the Ancient Capital City of the Khmer Empire). The gate flanked by a row of 54 stone figures on each side was the entrance to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. At the height of its greatness, Angkor Thom had a population of more than one million people and was larger in size than the city of London. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the Angkor Wat area.

3: Bayon Temple

The Bayon is a richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the 13th century as the state temple of King Jayavarman VII, the Bayon stands at the centre of Jayavarman's capital. The Bayon's most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak. You'll see its beautifully crafted central towers, covered in more than 200 enormous faces. The temple has two sets of bas-reliefs, which present a combination of mythological, historical and mundane scenes. The outer wall of the outer gallery features a series of bas-reliefs depicting historical events and scenes from the everyday life of the Angkorian Khmer. The inner gallery bas-reliefs depict mythological events.

4: Baphuon Temple

Baphuon is located in Angkor Thom, northwest of the Bayon. Built in the mid-11th century, it is a three-tiered temple mountain built as the state temple. The temple adjoins the southern enclosure of the Royal Palace and measures 120 metres east-west by 100 metres north-south at its base and stands 34 meters tall without its tower, which would have made it roughly 50 meters tall. Its appearance apparently impressed Temür Khan's late of the 13th century envoy Chou Ta-kuan during his visit from 1296 to 1297, who said Bayon was the Tower of Gold and Baphuon was 'the Tower of Bronze...a truly astonishing spectacle, with more than ten chambers at its base.

6: Phimeanakas

Phimeanakas (celestial temple) or Vimeanakas built at the end of the 10th century, during the reign of Rajendravarman (from 941-968), then completed by Suryavarman I in the shape of the three tier pyramids as a Hindu temple. On top of the pyramid there was a tower, while on the edge of the top platform there are galleries. Phimeanakas is located inside the walled enclosure of the Royal Palace of Angkor Thom.

The famous Terrace of the Leper King. The U-shaped structure is thought by some to have been used as a royal cremation site. The jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm (Tomb raider temple) is one of the most atmospheric of all temples in Angkor. Ta Prohm was built in the 13th century. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Ta Prohm is in much the same condition in which it was found, the photogenic and atmospheric combination of trees growing out of the ruins and the jungle surroundings have made it one of Angkor's most popular temples with visitors. This is a famous temple by the film Tomb Raider.

Ta Prohm (prasat ta prohm) is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the Bayon style largely in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara. Located approximately one kilometre east of Angkor Thom and on the southern edge of the East Baray, it was founded by the Khmer King Jayavarman VII as a Mahayana Buddhist monastery and university. 4: Bayon Temple

The Bayon is a richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia. Built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the state temple of the Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII, the Bayon stands at the centre of Jayavarman's capital, Angkor Thom Following Jayavarman's death, it was modified and augmented by later Hindu and Theravada Buddhist kings in accordance with their own religious preferences.

The Bayon's most distinctive feature is the multitude of serene and smiling stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak.[3] The temple has two sets of bas-reliefs, which present a combination of mythological, historical, and mundane scenes. The main conservatory body, the Japanese Government Team for the Safeguarding of Angkor (the JSA) has described the temple as "the most striking expression of the baroque style" of Khmer architecture, as contrasted with the classical style of Angkor Wat.

Pre Rup was dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, and it is probably located on a former shiva ashram, built by Yasovarman I in the previous century.[6] Perhaps it was standing at the center of a new capital city built by Rajendravarman, with the southern dike of East Baray as northern city limit, but nothing of the dwellings survived[6] and this "eastern city hypothesis" by Philippe Stern was never confirmed by archeological discoveries.

5: Phnom Bakheng

Bakheng Mountain is near Angkor Wat Temple. It is located about 1.5 kilometers northwest of Angkor Wat. It is a Hindu temple mountain dedicated to Shiva, and was built in the 9th century by King Yasovarman I. It is the oldest temple in the Angkor Archaeological Park, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cambodia. The temple is built on a 79-meter-tall hill, and has five sandstone sanctuaries on the top level. The sanctuaries are arranged in a quincunx pattern, with one in the center and one at each corner of the level's square. The temple is also surrounded by 108 small towers, which have mostly collapsed.

Phnom Bakheng is a popular spot for sunset viewing, as it offers panoramic views of the Angkor Archaeological Park. It is also a popular place to watch the sunrise, but the views are not as good as at Angkor Wat.

If you are visiting the Angkor Archaeological Park, I recommend visiting Phnom Bakheng in the late afternoon to catch the sunset.

WHAT TO EXPECT

8:00 am, We will pick you up from accommodation, we then start our jeep tour to the Angkor complex.

After our visit here we will carry on through the jungle and toward the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire. Then thread your way through the jungle track to see the Death Gate of Angkor Thom whilst enjoying a light refreshment.

3: Bayon Temple

In the near center of this massive enclosure, well find the enigmatic temple of Bayon. This temple is known for its many smiling faces. We will take you to the best spot for the photo opportunity and you'll also learn more about the history that shaped the art and culture of this civilization for centuries.

4: Ta Prohm Temple

We will then pay a visit to Ta Prohm temple which is unique in that it has been left largely as it was found- overgrown by jungle trees and vines, with many parts of the temple crumbling to the ground.

Once youve worked up a bit of an appetite from your adventure, stop by a local house for a tasty lunch with fresh atmosphere and quiet place, this will give you a good time to relax after enjoy your meal.
