Today, you will go to Dazu County for a whole day of sightseeing (your guide will meet you at 08:30 in your hotel lobby) and need 2hrs driving.

2: The Dazu Rock Carvings

This is the birthplace of the amazing Dazu rock carvings, which were created from the late Tang dynasty (618~907) to the early Song dynasty (960~1127).

With the theme of Buddhism, the Dazu cliffside carvings are distributed in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan and Shizhuanshan. You will spend the day visiting the Baodingshan carvings located about 527 meters above sea level. It consists mainly of the Dafowan rock carvings area and the Xiaofowan rock carvings area.

3: Baoding Mountain Carved Stone

After the 2hrs driving, we will reach the well-preserved Baodingshan Carvings. There are green buses taking you to Baodingshan directly. You will see that mountain cliffs are densely scattered with Buddhist and Taoist statues as well as celebrity figures from the late Tang Dynasty (618 - 907). There are about 10,000 statues of Buddha carved on the 500 meter cliff in the U-shaped Dafowan. It is said to be a long narrative mural with plenty of commentary but no repeated content.
You can wander at your own pace to have a close look at the precious grotto art. After the tour, a bumper lunch will be served at a fancy restaurant so that you can taste authentic Chongqing cuisines.

0930am Chongqing E'ling Park, located in the Yuzhong District, was established in 1909 and was once the private garden of the local richest man. 1040 am: Walking along the Shancheng Alley.
The Shancheng Alley in Chongqing is about 1.5 kilometers and is a small alleyway filled with historical charm and the essence of everyday life. 5: The Ropeway Of Yangtze River

1230 pm: Take a taxi to Dongshuimen Bridge to enjoy very unique view of Chongqing Yangtze River Cableway from a distance.
The Chongqing Yangtze River Cableway is hailed as the "First Aerial Corridor over the Yangtze River" and the "local Elevator". This cableway has been officially operational since 1987, spanning nearly 1.8 kilometers in length. It moves at a speed of 6 meters per second and takes about 4 minutes to travel from one bank of the Yangtze River to the other. It serves as a mode of transportation for daily commutes of the citizens. With the construction of the Yangtze River Bridge, it has gradually become a traditional means of connecting the two banks.

6: Chaotianmen Market

1250 pm: Walk to Chaotianmen Wholesale Market.
This is the most representative place in Chongqing where the transtition from the old to the new, being filled with a sense of cyberpunk science fiction. We pick up our travellers in the morning then drive to Longmenhao folk street, a Yangtze riverside attraction with traditional architechtures. It was built up on a small hill where travellers are able to have a nice view of entire downtown Chongqing across Yangtze river.

This complex was recently renovated, a sightseeing elevator will save us lots trouble. We'll stroll and explore around, enjoy the nice view and learn some narratives about this historic city and nostalgic sentiments.

We'll also do Xia-hao-lane, another part of this old neighborhood as well, will be lots fun in there.

2: Chongqing Planning Exhibition Hall

Afterwards we move on to our next stop-Chongqing Planning Exhibition Hall, a brand new city planning museum located by Yangtze. Will be a cool place to briefly learn about our city. It's also a nice view spot of the entire city view.

Then it's time for our lunch. We'll do either a local neighborhood restaurant for some family cuisines or a sinplified hotpot or rice noodles with chicken soup, our travelers will make the call.

3: Liziba Station

After lunch we'll do a unique attraction, Liziba Monorail Station. A monorail bridge goes straight through an aprtment building. The People's Assembly Hall will be an alternative option depends on our timing or weather. This is a marvelous nastalgic archetecture built in 1950's pretty much imitates the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, and has been the No.1 landmark of Chongqing for over 70 years.

We might skip this site if we really could not find a parking space nearby. It's really hard to find one, and we might will take a car ride around in stead.

Situated on the top of the Pipashan Mountain, Chongqing Museum was founded in 1951. The museum has over 40 exhibiting halls with about 100,000 pieces of relics, which spans over 3000 years history. These antiquities mainly include bronze wares, pottery, paintings, porcelain, sculptures, etc.

3: Stilwell Museum/Former Residence of General Stilwell (Shidiwei Jiangjun Jiuju)

General Joseph Stilwell Museum was founded in memory of Joseph W. Stilwell, an American general who contributed a great deal to the Chinese people. In 1942, during the Second World War, General Joseph W. Stilwell acted under orders to come to Chongqing. He worked as Chief of Staff in the China Theater of Operations and as the Commander-in-Chief of the American Army in the China Burma India Theater. The residence became the headquarters of the China Burma India Theater during that period. General Stilwell participated in a series of political and military affairs in the CBI Theatre of World War, and cemented a profound friendship with the Chinese people fighting side-by-side in the Anti-Fascist War in China. In July 1944, campaigns in Northern Burma succeeded and a road between India and China was built under his direct supervision, which made ammunitions and weapons accessible to China and brought an end to the blockade of the fascist state. The road was later named Joseph W. Stilwell Road. President Roosevelt recalled General Stilwell to Washington in 1944. William Pace, a former American Secretary of Defense, made a special trip to the museum in 1994 and was greatly touched by how well it had been preserved.

Three Natural Bridges is a rare geological wonder and ecotourism area in China, featuring typical karst topography. The area boasts three magnificent stone arch bridges which are hailed as marvels of the world and form the largest natural bridge group in Asia. They are sculpted by nature over millions of years, possess characteristics of grandeur, prominence, and seclusion, yet remain relatively unknown to many. Transformers once filmed here, making it more known to tourists and fans worldwide.

The admission and scenic elevator fees are already included. Wulong becomes known to foreign tourists due to Michael Bay's hit movie Transformers: Age of Extinction, which directly shows the majesty beauty of the Three Natural Bridges in Wulong. Besides the famous movie-site, other interesting nature objects are also in this area, like Furong Cave, Longshuixia Gap and Fairy Mountain.

3: Wulong Tiankeng Three Bridges

After a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, your splendid Chongqing Wulong karst tour begins with the Three Natural Bridges, the essential scenic feature of this world heritage area. Exquisitely sculptured by the hands of god, the three giant stone arch bridges are real wonders that can't be seen anywhere else in the world. Inside the tranquil scenic area, you can embrace the rugged beauty of the mountain bridges and gorges by meandering along the narrow path on the valley's bottom.

During the 2 - 2.5 hours visit, you will also stop by an ancient staging post near Qinglong Bridge, which was constructed during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) for handling official business and receiving guests. The wooden-structured courtyards are still well preserved with more than 20 rooms remaining.

After some free time to wander around, your Wulong trip from Chongqing concludes. You will be transferred back to your hotel. Upon arrival at around 18:30.

1: Wulong Karst Geological Park

Get started from downtown Chongqing at 0730, that would helps to avoid rush hour and buy us more excursion time. After 3 hours driving we'll arrive at the tourist reception center.

Upon arrival we need to take interior shuttle bus, which is mandatory for enviromental preservation. The ticket for both the national park and shuttle bus should be purchased here.

After a 10 min bus ride we get to our primary site-natural born triple bridge.

The admission fare covering both Wulong Geological National Parkand the interior shuttle bus ride is 155 yuan per adult.

2: Wulong Tiankeng Three Bridges

Then move to Tiankeng(A giant sinkhole,also named the natural triple bridge), the primary sector of Wulong Karst Geological National Park. It's actually a grand valley throughs 3 ridges with naturaly formed sink holes, look just like 3 huge bridges. It's also the only site listed on World Heritage List by UNESCO.

We firstly will take an 108 meters high cliff side viewing elevator to get down to the bottom Then we take a hiking tour through the giant sinkhole links all scenic spots including movie scenes of Transformer IV. The highlight is unique and magnificent natural landscape.

The walking takes approximately 2 hours, moderate intensity.

Afterwards we take the shuttle bus back to reception center and will get our lunch in a local family hostel, default lunch menu will be medium spicy Chongqing roasted fish and some other oganic fresh local mountain food, not fancy but quite available and tasty.

We pick up our travelers in their hotels then drive to Dazu County. Enjoy a roughly 2 hours ride through the country side of Chongqing then get to Baoding site, the major part of Dazu Carvings.

Dazu rock carvings is a massive ancient Buddhsim stone carving was built in Song dynasty, 800 years old. Over 10'000 statues were carved on vertical cliff, pretty much represents Chinese ancient religious art style and carving skill. Meawhile it's also functions like a Buddhism institute and holy site bring prayers and redemption to all Buddists.

In 1999 Dazu Rock Carvings were inscribed on World Heritage List by UNESCO.

Beishan Rock Carvings is a secondary site of Dazu Carvings, older than Baoding site. Most tourists won't be here for it's sort of isolated. Good things is that makes Beishan a peaceful and quiet place surrounded by plantations and birds. Traveles might take a relaxed stroll among all these amazing ancient carvings and enjoy all these art stuff and fresh air. For those cultural historical learners this would be your whole world.

4: Dazu Rock Carvings Beishan Site

Then we'll take a little country hiking get on top of a small hill nearby, explore an ancient Buddhism pogada and a twin giant Buddha both over 800 year old.
