Delhi is divided in two, New Delhi (the national capital) and Old Delhi, the ancient metropolitan city sits on the banks of the Yamuna River. A city of contrasts featuring architecture that ranges from the 10th-century Hindu-Rajputana to the 17th century Mughal and 20th-century British influences. Old Delhi is dominated by the grand bazaar of Chandni Chowk set inside the ancient walls of the sprawling Red Fort. The city has a large arts and crafts industry with markets solely dedicated to certain products such as The Spice Market, The Gold and Silver Market and The Handicrafts Market.

In order to show their hospitality, the city was painted pink, hence Jaipur's nickname `The Pink City`. Jaipur is famous for its Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds. Other noteworthy buildings are Sawai Jai Singh`s observatory, Jantar Mantar, and the Amer Palace.
