There is also delicious food to be enjoyed in Takayama, which is famous for its high quality Hida-Gyu Beef, the finest variety of beef in the country.

    Gero Onsen

    Gero Onsen is a small town on the Hida River located in the mountains of Gifu Prefecture. Gero has been known for its hot springs since the 10th century and is one of Japan's 'Three Famous Springs' (Nihon Sanmeisen) along with Arima Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture near Kobe and Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture. It's also famous for its beautiful autumn colors.
