Start in Tokyo (the capital city); and then, Toyama (nestled between the sea and the mountains, the city is widely known for inspiring and producing exquisite glass art, its fresh seafood); after that, visit; Hakuba (one of Japan's most popular ski areas, offering good snow and several large ski resorts); then, continue to Omachi (beautifully preserved historical town known for the centuries-old buildings and shops of the Bikan Historical Quarter); Shiojiri (famous for their Shinshu wine and lacquerware); and finally, Nagoya (center of the automotive industry in Japan, where big name factories such as Toyota, Honda and Mitsubishi are set there). Toyama

Hakuba

Located in the Northern Alps of Nagano Prefecture, it is one of Japan's most popular ski areas with several large ski resorts. During the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, Hakuba gained worldwide recognition as it hosted several olympic competitions, including alpine (downhill and super G) and nordic (ski jump and cross country) events. Today some of the olympic facilities remain in use, such as the Hakuba Ski Jumping Stadium. There is also the Hakuba Olympic Village Memorial Hall, a small but interesting museum, located within walking distance of the ski jump.

Omachi

Its hot spring area of Omachi Onsenkyo is set deep in the forest, and skiers and snowboarders overnight here from Hakuba to enjoy the local hospitality and cultural attractions.

Shiojiri
Shiojiri is located in the approximate center of Nagano Prefecture, at the southern end of the Matsumoto basin. Since ancient times it, has been an important junction on the transport routes linking the Sea of Japan to the Pacific Ocean. The post town of Narai-juku is a popular place to visit, where buildings hundreds of years old still line the ancient highway. Now, a major rail line passes through and the town's station has become a major rail junction.
