Matamata has a range of activities for everyone and for all of age ranges. From hiking the tallest waterfall in the north island to an escape room to the Firth Tower museum. As a matter of fact, Matamata is a key link in a heritage trail covering western Waikato towns of Te Aroha (historic spa town), Morrinsville and Matamata. Moreover, the amazing Matamata-Piako District Heritage Trail links the towns of Matamata, Te Aroha and Morrinsville and visits quite a variety of places of historical interest on the way.
