A stop is made for lunch (own cost) at a vineyard restaurant. Your expert local guide will collect you from your Blenheim accommodation ($40 surcharge for collection and return to Picton). Travel on board our luxury minibus through the scenic Marlborough wine region while your wine guide discusses the wines and vineyards; this small-group tour is limited to 10 people to ensure a more intimate atmosphere.
You will visit up to five cellar doors on a flexible schedule around the Marlborough vineyards - we try to match our wines to your particular tastes. Learn how Marlborough's sauvignon blanc has reached the pinnacle of sophistication, then take a stroll through a vineyard and learn how climate, soil, and skill combine to make an award-winning wine. Marlborough is not all about Sauvignon Blanc - we have stunning Rieslings, crisp and fruity Pinot Gris, oaked and unoaked Chardonnay and our renown Pinot Noir.
A stop will be made for lunch (own expense), featuring delicacies such as mussels, salmon, venison or beef when available. Alternatively, a light meal of gourmet local cheeses to pair with your wine might suffice.
On the way home, we stop at a local chocolate factory for a nibble of hand-made gourmet chocolates. The cruise part of the day out, departs at 9:00am. You will cruise from Picton up through the Queen Charlotte Sound to historical Ship Cove. Along the way your skipper will provide a commentary on the surrounds, history and the wildlife be it birds, fish or mammals
There will be a chance to disembark, with a 20 minute stopover, at Ship Cove. This was named by Captain Cook, when in 1770 his ship, The Endeavour, anchored there to replenish supplies. It became a favourite anchorage for him and he returned there a further four times.
Take this opportunity to dabble in the creek where Cook made home brew for his crew and share the beach with the resident wildlife.
On returning to Picton at around 12:30 we will take you for a single course lunch, with a wine, of your choice, at one of Marlboroughs boutique wineries. While your main course is being prepared, the winery, will give the opportunity to try some of their wines.
After your lunch you will get to visit a couple more wineries with a chance to try some more of the wines produced here, while your relaxing, savouring and enjoying this beautiful Marlborough region.

On the 1st of November 2016, the highly-anticipated unveiling of Omaka Aviation Heritage Centres second exhibition Dangerous Skies took place. Utilizing the talents of both homegrown and internationally based experts the resulting displays have evolved yet again. Today the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, is a world-class destination for the appreciation of historic aircraft. In December 2006 the opening exhibition, Knights of the Sky was ground breaking, not just in terms of the historical importance, rarity and scale of the collection but in the innovative way it was presented. The generosity of film director Sir Peter Jackson, the owner of the collection, was integral in bringing the exhibition to life in a series of dioramas utilizing the formidable creative talents of WingNut Films and enhanced by mannequins by Weta Workshop.
