Our Supercar passenger experience operates from Outlet City, Tawa and takes you on the main highway where we utilise the local on-ramp/off-ramps to accelerate to 100kph in 3.0 seconds multiple times whilst creating lots of awesome sound from the McLaren 12C exhaust and of course demonstrating that pure unadulterated F1 sound as we go under the over bridges and through tunnels all so you get that true feeling of McLaren performance while keeping within the bounds of what is permitted on New Zealand roads. We drive up to the top of Paekakariki Hill to take in the majestic view over the Kapiti Coast, Kapiti Island, the top of the South Island and on a clear day we may see Mt Taranaki/Egmont and Mt Ruapehu.

We visit Camp McKay at Paekakariki where the US Marine Corps were based in World War 2 prior to heading up into the Pacific campaign. Here we take a tour of the area with one of the Volunteer Historians who will share what life was like for the American Marines and locals during World War 2.

If you are coming in by cruise ship, we will collect you directly from the port. You do not need to get on a shuttle bus or head to the city as we are accredited to collect you as you walk off the ship.

Check out the best vantage point in our beautiful city. Breathtaking 360 degree views of the central business district, the harbour & the ocean to the south. Stunnnnning!

Legend has it that Wellington harbour, originally a land-locked lake, was home to two large and very active taniwha (sea monsters). One taniwha forged a passage to the open sea creating the entrance to the harbour. The second, named Whataitai, tried a different route, became stranded and died. It is believed that Tangi-te keo (Mt Victoria) was named after the soul of Whataitai.

Probably the best photo opportunity on the tour, our guide/host would be delighted to be your personal photographer for the day.

3: Lyall Bay

We head due south to our stunning coastline, passing through Lyall Bay as we go. Did you know that no matter where you are in Wellington, you are 3km (1.8 miles) from a beach? How lucky are we!?

Lyall Bay is Wellingtons most popular surf beach & even has 2 surf live saving clubs. For those of you that might be fans of the royals, we'll even pass the cafe that Harry & Megan frequented when they were here in 2018.

If we're lucky, we might even see one of the Ferries that travel from North Island to South Island, out in the strait.

4: Wahine Memorial

We continue around our stunning coastline where you can breath the fresh, salt air & marvel in the picturesque views.
As we turn the corner & in a more sombre moment on the tour, we reflect on Wellingtons worst ever maritime disaster.

The Wahine was battling unprecedented winds & many perished on this day the 10th April 1968. Our guides expertly point out what happened & where then bring this to life with some imagery of this event.

12: New Zealand Parliament

Welcome to the Parliaments grounds, which are used regularly for many kinds of public gatherings. From the grounds you can admire Parliaments buildings, the flags on the many flagpoles, the rose and camellia gardens, fine ironwork on the gates and lamp standards, and commemorative statues and plaques.

Two New Zealand flags are flown every day on the forecourt, in front of Parliament House. Other flags may be flown between the New Zealand flags to mark special visits or occasions.

The design of Parliaments iron gates incorporates the initials of King George V, who was the monarch when the gates were made.

There are several statues and plaques in Parliaments grounds.

The most prominent is a bronze statue of Richard John Seddon at the front of the main forecourt. Richard John Seddon was New Zealands longest serving Prime Minister. He was Prime Minister from 1893 to 1906.

Old St Paul's (formerly St Paul's Pro-Cathedral) is a historic site, a city landmark (tourist attraction), and a wedding and event venue in the heart of Wellington, the capital city of New Zealand.

If you are arriving on a cruise ship, we will pick you up near the port. When you disembark, follow the signs to the Independent Tour Operator Pick Up Area. Its about a 500m walk from your ship.
At the end of your tour, we encourage you to stay in the capital city and explore more of what Wellington has to offer. If you prefer to go straight back to the ship, our guides will ride with you back to the original collection point.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Meet your guide and group on Queens Wharf in central Wellington. After listening to the safety briefing, learn how to operate your electric bike and enjoy time to practice in a safe area before heading out.

Once youre feeling comfortable, saddle up for a fun bike tour of Wellington, and follow your guide along the Wellington Waterfront. Glide along the seafront, passing the lively port and harbor, and the beaches of Oriental Bay.

1: Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa

Make your way to Te Papa, located in a distinctive modern building that sits on the waterfront in Wellingtons city center. You can choose from several times throughout the day for the 60-minute guided tour.

Your guide introduces the museum's collections of art and design, photography, history, Maori and Pacific cultures, and natural sciences. Walk through parts of the impressive galleries and check out high-tech interactive features that enhance many of the exhibits. Among the amazing displays, you'll explore New Zealand's diverse natural environment, experience Maori culture and learn about New Zealand's art and colonial history.

Your ticket includes the tour and admission. After your tour, stay as long as you like to browse the galleries; one can easily spend several hours looking around the museum. A gift shop and two cafes are also on-site.
