1: Nine Holy Cannons

9 cannons that Hue artisans cast in Gia Longs second year (1803). Nine cannons are considered as one of the most valuable bronze works of art. The ancient nine cannons were placed at the foot of the Imperial Citadel, at the entrance of the Ngo Mon Gate the imperial city of Hue. During the reign of King Khai Dinh, they were relocated to their current position.

2: The Noon Gate (Cua Ngo Mon)

Built in 1833 in the traditional Vietnamese style under the rule of King Minh Mang and used by the Kings for troop movements and ceremonies.

These are nine bronze urns, located in front of The Mieu Temple in Hue Imperial Citadel. The Nine Peaks was commissioned by Emperor Minh Mang in the winter of 1835 and inaugurated on March 1, 1837.

The Forbidden Purple City belongs to a complex of the ancient capital of Hue, which is the center of daily life of the Kings, their Queens, Minor Wives and Cocubines of the Nguyens Emperors. The Forbidden City is located behind the Thai Hoa palace, was first built by King Gia Long (1804). In the third year of Minh Mangs reign (1822), the king changed the name into Forbidden Purple City.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1: Tam Giang Lagoon

Drive to Tam Giang Lagoon to take a boat ride across the lagoon to enjoy the sunrise/sunset. You will visit aquaculture premises, observing and trying your luck at catching a fish with a local fisherman. Floating on the water, you will have time to see the changes of time and life as well as the local life of a fishing village in this area. After the boat ride, we will go cycling around the village and visit vegetable farms and rice fields. We continue to Thuy Lap a local weaving craft village and we then see local artisans bamboo weaving at Bao La village with highly skilled craft.

On the way back to Hue city, we will have a tea break near Ngu My Thanh wharf and visit an exhibition of fishing tools in a house. Our last stop is at Thu Le Temple - the central community meeting house for the region. After the tour, we will bring you back to your hotel.

There is an optional cycling part to this tour for 3 kilometers near the lagoon and to a local village on quiet, flat roads. If you do not want to cycle this part can be a walking tour.

In the morning:
Tourists will be picked up at the hotel by driver and tour guide, then spend near one hour from city center to the foot of the moutain, after that, tourists spend more 30 minutes from there to the peak of Bach Ma National Park, concentrate together and conquer its highest point (at an elevation 1450m above sea level), don't forget to ring the peace bell to wish everybody in the world has a good life.
In here, tourists enjoy the cloudy sky make you feel standing on Heaven. At this altitute, the whole rivers and mountains, lagoons will be curled up and appears in your eyes.
Well-prepared for the tourists as helmets, raincoats, fanny-back in neccessary then go through the jungle mountain, pass bendy trails,... on the way, tourist can enjoy lots of beautiful views such as streams, falls, 5 cool lakes (Five Lakes). Paradise Cave (Pass by)

Paradise cave is the longest dry cave in Asia (located in Phong Nha Ke bang National Parks core zone. With naturally primitive features, Paradise Cave looks like a landscape painting; making it a natural wonder that many have enjoyed since its opening in 2010. According to spelunkers (cave explorers), the deeper one journeys into the cave, the more one feels the wells of heavenly clarity all around. The cave height can reach to 72 m and up to 150 m wide. There are a series of white crystal stalactites (limestone deposits) resembling natural pillars and many other spectacular formations.

07:45- 08:00: Our car and tour guide will pick up guests in Dong Hoi and drive you to Paradise cave the longest dry cave in Asia (located in Phong Nha Ke bang National Parks core zone). It is approximately 75 km from Dong Hoi and an 80 minute drive). -OR 8:45-9:10: Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha village, then transfer you to Paradise Cave the longest dry cave in Asia (located in Phong Nha Ke bang National Parks core zone).

You will then be taken by golf cart (1.6km) from the main gate through the jungle, to where you will then climb to the mouth of the cave; a climb that boasts spectacular views of the mountainous region around the cave.

12:30: Lunch at local restaurant in Phong Nha village. Here you will enjoy a traditional vietnamese dish. Vegetarian option available. Please contact us in advance if you have any dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate you.

13:30: Depart for Phong Nha Cave. You will then take a 25 minute ride to the cave via traditional dragonboat. This cave is called a water cave as it exhibits an underground river. After going into the cave by boat, you will explore 300 meters into the cave on foot. Then, you will be taken back by boat. This cave is famous for its spectacular rock formations. It has been given names such as the Lion, the Fairy Caves, the Royal Court, and the Buddha.

17:00: Back to Dong Hoi OR Phong Nha Village. Tour ends when you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Phong Nha Caves (Pass by)

Phong Nha cave is not only a natural legacy of the world. It also stands as a relic system of the historic Ho Chi Minh trail which, during the US war, served as a secret hiding place for floating bridges that were only brought out at night to avoid targeted bombings. These bridges were key components in the supply chain from the north to the south by allowing supply trucks to cross the rivers. It also once served as a hospital, with weapons installed at the entrance. Once its location was discovered, it was heavily bombed, resulting in the external scarring you see today. This area has now become the first section of the ever popular Ho Chi Minh trail, as it showcases a lush, mountainous landscape.

1: Khe Sanh Combat Base

Khe Sanh had a very important strategic position in the war, so the US army set up Khe Sanh Combat Base (at Khe Sanh) with the expectation that it would prevent reinforcements from the North to the South of the People's Army of Vietnam and will cut the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Khe Sanh is located in a valley of red soil 400 m above sea level. In 1965-1966, the US Army and the Army of the Republic of Vietnam built Khe Sanh into the largest stronghold in the line of defense (National Road No 9 with many Army Bases: Con Thien, Doc Mieu, Dong Ha, Cam Lo, Camp Caroll, The Rockpile, Ta Con Airport, Lang Vei, ). This is also one of the three "God Eyes" (Khe Sanh, Lang Vei and Ta Con Airbase) of the McNamara Electronic Fence. At Khe Sanh, major battles took place during the Road 9 - Khe Sanh campaign in 1968, and the Road 9 - Southern Laos campaign in 1971.

2: Bn Hi River

The Ben Hai River is best known for its location dividing the two regions: the South was controlled by the Republic of Vietnam and the North was controlled by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam during the Vietnam War from 1954 to 1976. Geographically, the river lies slightly south of the 17th parallel. The Geneva Convention stipulate this as a temporary demilitarized line in 1954.

3: Hin Lng Bridge

Hien Luong Bridge crosses Ben Hai River, in Hien Luong village, Hien Thanh commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province, Vietnam. Also here, there were fierce " Loud Speaker War", "Color War", and Flag War during the Vietnam War. At that time, Hien Luong Bridge was to connect 2 banks of the Ben Hai River where it was the border area that divided Vietnam into two regions along the 17th parallel: the North was administered by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, and the South was controlled by the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. managed by the State of Vietnam and then the Republic of Vietnam and then the Republic of South Vietnam, for nearly 22 years, from 1954 to 1976.

1: Quang Tri Citadel

8:00 am, tour guide and driver pick you up at your hotel, transfer to Quang Tri. First stop is Quang Tri citadel on the bank of river Thach Han which was the site of fierce battles during the US war in Vietnam. Quang Tri was the place where several important military events took place between 1954 and 1971. But the climax, without a doubt, was the 81-day fight in the summer of 1972. In the 81-day fight, the US army and the southern Vietnamese regime mobilized a large number of troops and ammunition to capture the citadel. Heavy artillery fire during these 81 days virtually razed the citadel. Only a few parts of the citadel still stand.

2: Khe Sanh Combat Base

Keep moving to the west, stop to visit the Rockpile, Dakrong Bridge, Ho Chi Minh trails on the way to Khe Sanh combat base one of the violent battles in Quang Tri, one US base fell under attack in early 1968. Youll also see the remaining of an old airfield. Visit the museum of Ta Con airport to see the things in nature of the fierce war.

3: Bn Hi River

The Bn Hi River (Vietnamese: Sông Bn Hi) is a river in central Vietnam which became an important landmark in the partition of the country into a northern and a southern zone along the 17th parallel by the Geneva Accords of 1954. The demilitarized zone (DMZ) separating the two parts extended about 5 kilometers (3.1 mi) from either side of the river.

At the time of the partition, the principal north-south road (Highway 1) crossed the Bn Hi River over Hien Luong Bridge (also known as the "Peace Bridge"), a beam bridge built from steel by the French in 1950. After the partition, the northern portion of the bridge was painted red and the southern portion yellow. The bridge was damaged by American bombardment during the Vietnam War in 1967. After the Paris Peace Accords, a modern bridge was built next to the old bridge.

4: Vinh Moc Tunnel

Vinh Moc (Vnh Mc) is a tunnel complex in Qung Tr, Vietnam. During the Vietnam War it was strategically located on the border of North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The tunnels were built to shelter people from the intense bombing of Son Trung and Son Ha communes in Vinh Linh county of Qung Tr Province in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone.

The American forces believed the villagers of Vinh Moc were supplying food and armaments to the North Vietnamese garrison on the island of Con Co which was in turn hindering the American bombers on their way to bomb Hanoi. The idea was to force the villagers of Vinh Moc to leave the area but as is typical in Vietnam there was nowhere else to go. The villagers initially dug the tunnels to move their village 10 metres underground but the American forces designed bombs that burrowed down 10 metres.

Eventually, against these odds, the villagers moved the village to a depth of 30 metres. It was constructed in several stages beginning in 1966 and used until early 1972. The complex grew to include wells, kitchens, rooms for each family and spaces for healthcare. Around sixty families lived in the tunnels; as many as 17 children were born inside the tunnels.

The tunnels were a success and no villagers lost their lives. The only direct hit was from a bomb that failed to explode; the resulting hole was utilized as a ventilation shaft.

Three levels of tunnels were eventually built.

- Horror Highway: the horrible carnage on Vietnam Highway 1. Thousands of civilians, mostly the elders, women, children, and scores of soldiers were killed by artillery and infantry weapons in hours of shooting.
- Long Hung Church: one of the very few existing buildings remains in Quang Tri town during Fire Summer or Eastern Offensive in 1972. It is a National Relic in the town of Quang Tri Vietnam BA5453.
- Quang Tri Ancient Citadel: is seen as an eye-witness of fierce battles during the anti-American resistance war in 1972. During the 81-day fighting, the citadel was almost destroyed by thousands of tons of bombs released by the US army. Nowadays, the citadel becomes a place to mark immortal victories of the Vietnamese army and people and to educate youths about the nations revolutionary tradition and its patriotism.

- Continue the journey, we stop to visit:
- Dakrong Bridge: the bridge was considered the beginning of the Ho Chi Minh Trail network, and during many years of Vietnam War, this access point was hotly contested. The Dakrong Bridge fell many times. Now its a grand suspension bridge, a proud thumbed nose as if to say, You cant knock down my bridge anymore.
- On the way, tourists also have chances to meet Paco minority village.
- Ta Con Airport: now is the Khe Sanh Combat Base Museum, contains a boneyard of several captured U.S. tanks and aircraft destroyed during the Battle of Khe Sanh. According to the official accounts provided by the museum, 197 U.S. planes were shot down or captured during the 170-day battle.

- Hien Luong Bridge Ben Hai River: The Geneva Agreements on Vietnam signed in 1954 divided Vietnam into North and South with the 17th Parallel where the Ben Hai River runs through the central province of Quang Tri as a borderline. Hien Luong Bridge, also knows as the Peace Bridge, was built by the French in 1950, across Ben Hai River. It is 178 m long but it took 21 years for Vietnamese people from the North and the South to be united.
- Vinh Moc Tunnels and Tunnels Museum: The most highlight part of DMZ Tour during Vietnam War. The complex of Vinh Moc tunnel located deep in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone and sheltered Vinh Linh county people from the intense bombing. Thien Mu Pagoda is the oldest pagoda in Hue, located on the banks of the Perfume River.

The name takes its source from a legend. It was told that long time ago, there was a woman who appeared every night on the hill where the pagoda stands today. She told the local people that a Lord would come and built a Buddhist pagoda for the country prosperity. Lord Nguyen Hoang, when hearing that, ordered to construct this pagoda.
