Indonesia bridges the equator and boasts year-round hot weather, with a wet season from November to March and widespread rain, especially in the south. The best time to visit is between April and October for beach-going, island hopping, swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing. Indonesia is a tropical country with two main seasons; the wet season and the dry season. The weather in the months of July and August is another good time as the temperatures are cooler and dry. The further inland you travel, the more the weather changes considerably in Papua the mountain peaks are sometimes covered with snow, and the mountains of Sulawesi get very cold. 

Indonesia is located in the southern hemisphere and is a tropical destination where the hot and cold seasons are opposite from the Western seasons. When it is winter time for us it is summer time in Indonesia, and vice versa. Temperatures remain fairly constant throughout the year with average daily highs in the lowlands around the mid-80s, and around the mid-70s and chilly at night in the mountainous areas. There are some regional variations like in Sumatra when it rains from October to January due to its northern location, and in the south, it rains from November to February. Sulawesi island features an unusual shape and experiences a slightly different weather pattern with rain expected during the months of June and July.
