THE BEST TIME TO VISIT LAOS

Laos is a landlocked country that features two distinct weather seasons, the ‘wet’ and the ‘dry’, but can be visited all year round. The Dry season lasts from November to early May, and the Wet season runs from late May to October. The dry season is generally the most popular time to visit the country. The weather system in Laos is pretty straightforward, as there is no coastline to influence it compared to other parts of Asia. Temperatures are greatly affected by the different regions throughout the country and seasons. The altitude throughout much of the country reduces the average temperatures by several degrees, and as a general rule, north, central, and eastern regions are at a higher altitude than those in the south. The lowest is in the Mekong River Valley, where the humidity is at its highest and temperatures can easily exceed 95°F in March and April.
