June - October

The months of June to early October are the long dry season in Rwanda. This season provides ideal conditions for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. Wildlife overall and animal sightings are much more common during this time of year with golden monkeys, and mountain gorillas as well as buffalo, and elephants visible during the dry season.

These months are peak season in Rwanda, and if you plan to travel during this time we recommend booking your trip in advance to guarantee the availability of accommodations and gorilla permits. This time of year is considered to be one of the best times to travel to the country, the temperatures are comfortable, and light cloud coverage is present during the day which makes it more comfortable.
