Autumn - September - November

The landscapes of South Korea burst with vibrant colors during the autumn months. After the high heat and heavy rains of the summertime, the country dazzles with its beautiful foliage, boasting stunning shades of orange, yellow, and red particularly in the country’s National Parks such as Seoraksan, Songnisan, and Jirisan. The mild average daily temperatures of 68F degrees last through late October. They allow visitors to explore the verdant countryside and still be able to enjoy a day at the beach or resorts of Jeju. This time of year is another wonderful and popular time to visit the country to see all of its beauty. 

The autumn months are a quieter time of year to visit, with lower temperatures, prices, and more availability for accommodations and attractions. Explore the great outdoors with ideal temperatures, visit a national park, make a day trip to Nami Island, or walk through a lively city, the outdoor opportunities are endless. As the end of this season nears, the colder weather begins to creep in with average temperatures in November hovering around 40F degrees.

- The Seoul Lantern Festival - Two weeks in November - Seoul - Thousands of lanterns along the Cheonggyecheon Stream.

- Hwaseong Suwon Cultural Festival - October 5-7th - Suwon - Held at the Hwaseong Fortress with numerous traditional events. 

- The Seoul International Fireworks Festival - October 5th - Seoul - Various performances and traditional Korean programs followed by a fireworks display.

- Kimchi Festival - November - Gwangju - Various activities to celebrate the traditional dish of Kimchi
