The dry season in Indonesia brings a winning combination of superb weather and fewer tourists along with lower prices. The days are hot and filled with sunshine, the beaches are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, water sports, and other activities. This is a great time of year to enjoy many different activities such as surfing the waves on many of Bali’s beaches such as Java and Bali, and go diving to see shoals of whale sharks and mola mola (sunfish) that gather offshore from June through September. You can travel into the jungles of Sumatra, and Kalimantan and feed the orangutans, as well as go hiking or trekking through the verdant jungles and mountainous regions. During this time period the county’s natural beauty really shines through. After the rainy season, the landscapes are in bloom with beautiful flowers, and the jungle and rice fields are lush and verdant, a spectacular sight to see. The average daily temperature this time of year sits around the low 80s which is perfect for a day at the beach or outdoor adventures such as hiking, or biking in Lombok and Komodo National Park. The temperatures do begin to soar in July, which is also the start of peak season with higher prices and bigger crowds.
