December - February
This is one of the best times to visit the country and one of the most popular with the months of December and January being considered the high season. December is the start of the dry season in Colombia with some great weather opportunities to get out and explore. Visitors come from near and far to celebrate the Christmas season here in Colombia as well as the New Year’s festivities. The Barranquilla Carnival is one of the most important folklore events and one of the largest carnival celebrations in the world, this festival takes place during this time also. The Caribbean coast of Colombia is ideal during these months as the dry weather is particularly noticeable along the coastline, and in the Andes, which also makes it a good time to go trekking. Hiking in the national parks that surround Bogota is ideal during this time frame. Visitors to the country during this time can expect sunny skies and warmish days, daily temperatures can range anywhere from 68-89F degrees depending on your destination.
