June, July and August

The weather can vary greatly in Colombia according to the region during these months, some areas remain dry such as Bogota, and Barichara, whereas others like Cartagena are rainy. June is still classified as part of the rainy season but is an excellent time to get outdoors and explore the magnificent Andes, and the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The month of July is somewhat rainy in the Andes region, however, it is a drier month in the Amazon. Humpback Whales can be spotted on the Pacific coast during their annual migration. July is also a great month to go surfing on the Pacific coast. There are a number of interesting, vibrant festivals during this time of year, making it another great reason to travel. The gorgeous Feria de las Flores held in Medellin for half of the month of August is a great reason to go to Colombia during this time of year. As well as the 3-day Wind and Kite Festival also held in August in the quaint colonial town of Villa de Leyva.
