November - April (Dry Season)

The best time to visit Guatemala is November through April during the dry season, when the rain ceases and the sun shines. This is the ideal time for outdoor activities such as hiking volcanoes, exploring the Mayan ruins, and trekking through the highlands. And because this is considered the peak season for tourism, prices are highest. Christmas and Easter vacations specifically are very busy, so we recommend booking early, especially for Antigua. The busy period typically ends just after Semana Santa – the Holy Week running up to Easter. This is one of Guatemala's most important festivals, marked by processions and the decoration of streets with floral patterns.
