Winter - December - February

The winter months bring colder temperatures and fewer crowds. Temperatures get colder at higher altitudes, and some trekking trails might be closed. Otherwise, it's a great time for exploration, especially to visit the Chitwan National Park, and opportunities for cultural exploration. The month of November has pleasant weather and pretty much no rainfall; the cooler weather begins during this month in the southern plains of the country. January is the coldest month, and it can be a nice, quiet time to visit different parts of the country. Optimal wildlife spotting in the national park is in late January. During these months, there are excellent opportunities to see a high concentration of wildlife, including migrating birds.
