November and December

November brings the short rainy season to Rwanda, the rains are less intense this time of year and sporadic. This time of year represents a “green season” across the country when the trees and plants thrive off the rainfall. The landscapes are verdant this time of year and birdwatching is popular in Nyungwe, Volcanoes, and Akagera National Parks. This is an excellent time of year for photographers to visit Rwanda when the forests a lush and vibrant with dense green vegetation for the gorillas to wander through.

This is a busy time of year to visit Rwanda when prices for accommodation and travel are higher and sell out fast. It is highly recommended to book well in advance. The warm, sunny conditions during this time make it a pleasure to partake in many outdoor activities across the country. After the short rains in November the following months from December to February present dry and pleasant weather. The dry terrain this time of year makes the trek one of the easiest of the year. The festive holiday season in Rwanda is a busy time of year and prices rise during these months.
