Summer - May to October
The weather in Hawaii in winter is not your typical winter, it is still consistently warm with slightly lower temperatures around 78 degrees and the water temperature is around 74 degrees. November through March is the rainy season across the islands especially on teh windward (northeastern) side, they are however short and sweet. November is the end of Hurricane season with higher than average rainfall and amazing tropical temperatures, mid-80s in the day and chilly 60s at night. The number of visitors and pricing drop this time of year making it a great time to visit for the beautiful beaches, and an outstanding array of outdoor activities. Surfs up during the winter months with many world-famous beaches turning into a surfer's paradise. There are three of the world’s most iconic surfing competitions held in November in Oahu. Peak tourism season in Hawaii begins in the middle of December and continues through the end of March or mid-April. This is a busier time of year with airfare and accommodations at their highest. Many places are booked to capacity with the Holiday season, and spring breaks. Vibrant tropical flowers begin to bloom throughout the islands at the start of the year, which is also the peak humpback whale migration.
