November - March (Winter)

The winter months can be long and dark, and many tourist attractions close down. It is especially cold in the eastern and mountainous areas. Snow covers the mountains, making it perfect for skiing in places like Gudauri or Bakuriani. Western Georgia (like Batumi) stays milder and wetter. There are hardly any tourist at this time, and the hotels that are open offer you their lowest rates of the year.

In the lowlands and cities like Tbilisi, Winters are chilly but generally not extreme. Daytime temperatures average around 40°F to 50°F, but they can dip below freezing at night. Snow is rare in Tbilisi, but it does happen occasionally.
