December - April
December - April is the dry season when temperatures are warm (79°F and 90°F), and downpours are less likely. This is generally considered the best time to visit Honduras. The humidity is more comfortable, the landscapes are lush, and the conditions are ideal for outdoor activities. The Bay Islands, including Roatán and Utila, boast clear, calm waters ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving, while inland destinations like Pico Bonito National Park offer excellent hiking and wildlife viewing. The dry season also enhances the experience of exploring the ancient Copán Ruins, with clear skies and scenic landscapes providing a stunning backdrop. Despite the drier conditions, much of Honduras remains lush and green, especially in its tropical and rainforest regions. Travelers can also enjoy vibrant cultural festivities, such as Semana Santa (Holy Week), when towns come alive with colorful parades and local celebrations.
