Drive at your own leisure through Frankfurt (a central German city on the river Main and a global hub for culture, education, tourism and transportation), Rothenburg (well known for its well-preserved medieval old town, a destination for tourists from around the world) and Nuremburg (famous for its historical landmarks like the imperial castle and the walled Old Town). Visit the Austriac city of Innsbruck (one of the oldest and most idyllic ski towns in Europe) and back to Germany to enjoy Munich (a haven of history and culture, with museums galore, operas, theaters, public parks and the somber Dachau) with a rental a car. Austria
Austria is epitomized by green glacial valleys and snow-capped peaks - and the wooden picture postcard chalets. Nonetheless, visitors have much to explore from the stylish capital, Vienna, to the baroque splendor of Salzburg. Austria's mountain landscape is undoubtedly its biggest draw for tourists. Although a year-round destination, there is a definite seasonal split in visitors. Summer is best for exploring the countryside on the many mountain trails that snake through the Austrian Alps and the lowlands, while the ski season kicks off in December, attracting winter sports fans from all over the world.

Picturesquely positioned on the steep banks of the River Tauber, its walls and towers have remained unharmed since the Thirty Years War of 1618. Nuremberg
Nurnberg had suffered a lot of damages during the war but nowadays has regained its vitality and is now a symbol of postwar prosperity. Don't miss the city's churches: Frauenkirche St. Lorenze Kirche and St. Sebaldus Kirche and the Albrecht Durer House where the artist lived for 20 years.
