1: Gobustan Rock Art

Qobustan it is an ancient place of habitants which live in these areas on the dates of 5,000-40,000 years ago. It is located about about 60 km far from Baku city center. This location included to the UNESCO Heritage list.

Qobustan National Museum will help you to feel the history of first immigrants of these lands. The reserve has more than 6,000 rock engravings dating back between 5,000-40,000 years. The site also features the remains of inhabited caves, settlements and burials, all reflecting an intensive human use by the inhabitants of the area during the wet period that followed the last Ice Age.

1: Shahdag Mountain Resort

Guests are picked up from any address or meeting point in Baku and transferred to Shahdag Mountain Resort in the Gusar region, a journey of approximately three hours. Located in the Greater Caucasus near Shahdag National Park, the resort is known for its alpine climate, preserved natural environment, and elevations between 1,435 and 2,552 meters above sea level. The ski season typically runs from mid-December to early April. As Azerbaijans largest mountain resort, Shahdag offers 32 kilometers of ski terrain, 26 slopes for all skill levels, and 17 modern lifts with a capacity of up to 25,000 skiers per hour. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, visitors can enjoy activities such as cable cars, mountain coasters, zip-lining, paragliding, ice skating, and family-friendly attractions. Guests usually spend two to three hours at the resort before returning to Baku.

After completing the tour activities in Shahdag, the journey continues toward the Candy Cane Mountains located in the Khizi region. The driving distance from Shahdag to this destination is 3 hours. This unique topography results from natural sedimentary layering and mineral oxidation over millions of years, forming one of Azerbaijans most photogenic landscapes. Ateshgah often called the "Fire Temple of Baku" is a castle-like religious temple in Surakhani town, a suburb in Baku. The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetrapillar-altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned in the late 19th century, probably due to the dwindling of the Indian population in the area. The Baku Ateshgah was a pilgrimage and philosophical center of Zoroastrians from Northwestern Indian Subcontinent, who were involved in trade with the Caspian area via the famous "Grand Trunk Road". The Temple of Fire "Ateshgah" was nominated for List of World Heritage Sites, UNESCO in 1998

Yanardag is natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku. Flames jet into the air 3 metres (9.8 ft) from a thin, porous sandstone layer. The reason offered for the Yanar Dag fires is the result of hydrocarbon gases emanating from below the earth's surface. Alexandre Dumas, during one of his visits to the area, described a similar fire he saw in the region inside one of the Zoroastrian fire temples built around it. Only a handful of fire mountains exist today in the world, and most are located in Azerbaijan. Due to the large concentration of natural gas under the Absheron Peninsula, natural flames burned there throughout antiquity and were reported on by historical writers such as Marco Polo.

People often go there to see these dancing flames which never get extinguished and enjoy a cup of tea at the nearby café. It's a fascinating phenomenon to watch, especially at dusk. It's easy to understand how such eternal fires, fueled from the earth itself, became objects of worship.The appearance of the Zoroastrians in Azerbaijan almost 2,000 years ago is closely connected with these geological phenomena, and, according to one theory, the name "Azerbaijan" itself was derived from the word for "fire" in Persian. The cult of fire worship was paramount throughout the history of pre-Islam in this region.

1: Fortress Walls of Icheri Sheher

Meet with your tour guide at the central Ichersheher metro station. You will pass through old city walls, built in 12th century by the ancient kingdom of Shirvanshahs. From there well walk through the Philarmony garden and see the building of Philarmony, built in 1912 and inspired by the design of Monte Carlo casino.

2: Baku Funicular

After 15 minutes walk well arrive to the Funicular and take a train to the hilltop of the city. There you will be able to enjoy the city bay view in its fullest and take nice photos. The outstanding modern towers of Baku the Flame Towers are located in this area. You will also get a chance to visit The Martyrs Lane and get informed about its history and significance for Azerbaijani people. We will also visit Uphill Park ("Daghustu Park") when coming back from the Martyrs Lane.

Martyrs' Lane, formerly known as the Kirov Park, is a cemetery and memorial in Baku, Azerbaijan dedicated to those killed by the Soviet Army during Black January 1990 and in the Nagorno-Karabakh War of 19881994.

5: Baku Boulevard

Mesmerized by the city view, we will head back to the city center and walk through the city boulevard with the guide. "Baku Venice" and Carpet Museum are also located in the boulevard. We will pass by the ancient and mystical monument - the Maiden Tower, a must-see ancient monument included in the UNESCO Historical Heritage List. 1: Baku Old City

Our guide will take you to see the below places in the Old City: Maiden tower, souvenir shops, Old city streets, the Aliaga Vahid monument, the Sabir monument and the Shirvanshah palace museum.

Old City or Inner City (Azerbaijani: çrihr) is the historical core of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Old City is the most ancient part of Baku, which is surrounded by walls which were easily defended. In 2007, the Old City had a population of about 3000 people. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is widely accepted that the Old City, including its Maiden Tower, date at least to the 12th century, with some researchers contending that construction dates as far back as the 7th century.

2: Fairmont Baku, Flame Towers

Flame Towers (Azerbaijani: Alov qülllri) is a trio of skyscrapers in Baku, Azerbaijan, the height of the tallest tower is 182 m (597 ft). The three flame-shaped towers symbolize the element of fire - historically resonant in a region where natural gas flares shoot from the earth and Zoroastrian worshippers saw in a fire a symbol of the divine (notably at the Ateshgah of Baku and Yanar Dag). The buildings consist of 130 residential apartments over 33 floors, a Fairmont hotel tower that consists of 250 rooms and 61 serviced apartments, and office blocks that provide a net 33,114 square meters of office space. The cost of Flame Towers was an estimated US$350 million. Construction began in 2007, with completion in 2012.

3: Highland Park

Highland Park, well known as Viewing Square, and earlier in Soviet-era as Sergei Kirov park is one of the most favourite places in Baku to have a walk, rest, and enjoy the sea view. There you can take rest by breathing fresh air, viewing the city, drinking tea in the Highland Park Café, while listening to the classic lounge music. Its the best place to relax, that is located right in the heart of Baku.

4: Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum

Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum is located in Baku that displays Azerbaijani carpets and rugs of various weaving techniques and materials from various periods. It has the largest collection of Azerbaijani carpets in the world. It moved to a new building on the Baku's seafront park during 2014 from its former location on Neftchiler Avenue.

5: Little Venice

Little Venice is an area within Baku Boulevard that is made up of man-made waterways. It was built in 1960 but was later expanded in 2012 and consists of a labyrinth of canals interspersed with islands that are connected by stone bridges complete with gondolas plying the canals. It was out of season and the canals were being dredged when we visited in November 2019. Little Venice isn't meant to be strictly authentic but it is a fun attraction along Baku Boulevard.

6: Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center

The Heydar Aliyev Center is a 57,500 m2 (619,000 sq ft) building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid and noted for its distinctive architecture and flowing, curved style that eschews sharp angles. The center is named after Heydar Aliyev, the first secretary of Soviet Azerbaijan from 1969 to 1982, and president of Azerbaijan Republic from October 1993 to October 2003.
The logo of the Heydar Aliyev Center also represents a reflection of this idea. The Centers logo symbolizes Azerbaijans forward-looking aspirations, the progress and the future of the country. And the Center bearing the name of Heydar Aliyev has become a symbol of modern Azerbaijan and modern Baku.

Palace of the Shirvanshahs (Pass by)

The Palace of the Shirvanshahs is a 15th-century palace built by the Shirvanshahs and described by UNESCO as "one of the pearls of Azerbaijan's architecture". It is located in the Inner City of Baku, Azerbaijan and together with the Maiden Tower, forms an ensemble of historic monuments inscribed under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments. The complex contains the main building of the palace, Divanhane, the burial-vaults, the shah's mosque with a minaret, Seyid Yahya Bakuvi's mausoleum (the so-called "mausoleum of the dervish"), south of the palace, a portal in the east, Murad's gate, a reservoir and the remnants of a bath house. Earlier, there was an ancient mosque, next to the mausoleum. There are still ruins of the bath to the west of the tomb.

7: Monument to Mirza Alakbar Sabir

A Monument to Mirza Alakbar Sabir was installed in 1958, in Baku, on Istiglaliyyat Street, in a park near Ismailiyya building. Its sculptor was Jalal Garyaghdi, and architects were H.Alizade and A.Ismayilov.
The monument was installed in honor of the Azerbaijani poet Mirza Alakbar Sabir. The first monument was installed in 1922, and made by a sculptor Yakov Keulikhes and architect Y.Syryshev. Heights of pedestal of reinforced concrete sculpture was equal to 3,75 meters, but the figure of the poet was made standing up straight. Not long after it was decided to replace the monument with a new one and a solemn opening ceremony of the new monument to Mirza Alakbar Sabir installed at the place of the former one, was held on April 30, 1958. New bronze monument, made by sculptor Jalal Garyaghdi and architects H.Alizade and A.Ismayilov, was installed on a pedestal of dark polished granite Labrador.

8: Vahid Monument

Statue of Aliaga Vahid was designed in 1990 by Rahib Hasanov and Natig Aliyev with the participation of the architect Sanan Salamzade. The authors skillfully recreated the image of the poet. The bronze of the monument, with its fine finish, is similar to carving on dark wood, which recalls one of the first occupations of Aliaga Vahid, who in his youth went at his fathers feet, becoming a wood carver.
This monument is unique, for there is nothing similar among the Baku, and in general Azerbaijani monuments. The monument is not as simple as the amazing Gazellekhan Vahid. The monument is made in the form of a huge head, as if growing out of the earth. Torso, neck, hair the trunk and branches of the tree, and at the same time it is the intertwining of human figures.

Maiden Tower (Pass by)

The Maiden Tower is a 12th-century monument in the Old City, Baku, Azerbaijan. Along with the Shirvanshahs' Palace, dated to the 15th century, it forms a group of historic monuments listed in 2001 under the UNESCO World Heritage List of Historical Monuments as cultural property, Category III. It is one of Azerbaijan's most distinctive national emblems, and is thus featured on Azeri currency notes and official letterheads.
The Maiden Tower houses a museum, which presents the story of historic evolution of the Baku city. It also has a gift shop. The view from the roof takes in the alleys and minarets of the Old City, the Baku Boulevard, the house of Isa bek Hajinski and a wide vista of the Baku Bay.
The Tower is covered by cloud of mysteries and legends which are rooted to the history and culture of Azerbaijan. Indeed, some epics became a subject for scenario for ballets and theatre's plays.

Martyrs' Lane, Alley of Martyrs or Shidlr Xiyaban formerly The Kirov Park, is a cemetery and memorial in Baku. Pay tribute to victims of Sofiet aggression at the Alley of Martyrs, an alley of black granite tombstones and a memorial to those killed by the Soviet Army in January 1990. An estimated number of 15,000 people are buried in the cemetery park. 5: Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum

The Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum City of Flying carpets (the first of its kind in the world), where you can see examples of Azerbaijans seven schools of weaving and was created in 1967 and is one of Bakus modern architectural icons. Shaped like a rolled-up carpet, the eye-catching building was designed by Austrian architect Franz Janz and opened in 2014. Today, the Museum is home to the largest collection of Azerbaijani carpets in the world over 6,000 those on display mainly date from between the 17th and 20th centuries and are arranged according to style and region. 7: Little Venice

Its the best place to relax, that is located right in the heart of Baku.We suggest you to visit this park at night time, because of the amazing lighting on the stairs to the Highland park! And also on hot summer days and nights you can feel there cool, and a bit windy.

3: Little Venice

Little Venice in Baku Boulevard is a small town built in 1960. It was expanded up to 10.000 sq.m. now. The town has two large and several small islands. The redevelopment of the Small Venetian town saw the expansion of the existing channels and the construction of additional bridges and two restaurants, one offering Western cuisine and the other Eastern. Boats are provided for 4 people: one is designed for guide and the rest for passengers.Located nearby the Caspian seashore you will feel yourself as in Venice by visiting Small Town of Venice. The restaurants located in the islands offer various meals of the different cuisine, including Azerbaijanian tasty dishes. It will be interesting firstly to observe around in gondola, later to have a great lunch or dinner in the islands. Currently Mini Venice has several islands which are divided by pristine water channels. Beautiful ornate bridges connect these islands. You can hire a 4 seater Gondola for a ride around these islands.

1: Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center

The Baku Night tour will be finalized with our visit to the Heydar Aliyev Center, which is considered as masterpiece of modern architecture with the style of deconstructionism from the "Queen of Curved Lines" from Zaha Hadid. On its territory, there is a magnificent park with green lawns and snow-white footpaths which pass near original sculptures and compositions, the most famous of which being the favorite of the guests of the city, "I Love Baku".

Government House (Pass by)

While taking the rest in this amazing park you will immediately recognize one of the architectural masterpieces of the world, which is the Government House of Soviet Azerbaijan. It took almost 16 years to construct this mammoth structure when the Azerbaijan was under Soviet authority. Moreover, historical evidences show that German prisoners of the war were used to build this huge structure.

2: Mini Venice

The next stop is going to be the Baku Boulevard, which is considered as sea embankment, beauty and pride of Baku. It is 25 kilometers of magnificent park with exotic trees, shopping and entertainment centers, magnificent bicycle paths, views of the Government House of Soviet Azerbaijan. Additionally, the park is famous for having a small version of Venice. With its canals and bridges, as well as boat trips, it fascinates the guests of the city and the people of Baku.

3: Highland Park

During the tour your first stop will be the Bakus Upland Park which is the highest point in the Azerbaijani capital, opening a panoramic view of the city and its bay. It is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in Baku, which makes it suitable for quiet walks.

Our guide will lead you to the specific spot of the park where you will have a chance to see the unique view of the city with its beautiful lights, buildings and attractions including Baku Eye, Christal Hall and the city Boulevard. Furthermore, you will have a view of the buildings such as national parliament - the Milli Majlis, and Flame Towers, which are three high-rise buildings, including a hotel, apartments and offices. The panels between windows are horizontally covered with LED screens that display the movement of fire visible from the farthest points of the city. The lights create visual effects of torches, which emphasizes the main idea of the towers lying in their names - "Flame Towers".
