in the bagpipes, where is the signature of the master who made it, how the tree, the horns and the skin are processed, how the bagpipes's voice changes from every small detail, basic setup rules, and the rule that the bagpipe is held by the heart on the left side of the body. All this, told by the gaudy makers with a glitter in the eyes, will make you realize that in each bagpipe the masters have put a part of their heart and is special. The aircraft is in excellent condition and visitors can even climb inside the cockpit to get a feel for what it was like to fly one of these powerful machines. Another impressive feature of the museum is the collection of helicopters, including the iconic Mi-24 Hind attack helicopter.

This strategic place was first the location of a Thracian fortress, later used by the Romans, the Byzantines, and eventually the Bulgarians. It was renovated in the 13th century during the reign of Tsar Ivan Asen II to be used as a line of defense against the Latin Empire. It was destroyed in 1410 by the invading Ottoman armies. Today, the fortress lies in ruins, with a small church functioning within what remains of its walls. The Holy Virgin of Petrich Church is the only preserved building in the complex and one of the most remarkable examples of Medieval Christian architecture. In 1991, after a full restoration of the church, it began its function as an Orthodox temple.45 minutes -Admission Ticket Not Included2: Bachkovo MonasteryBachkovo monastery Assumption of Holy Virgin is the second largest in Bulgaria and a national cultural landmark. Built on a spacious terrace next to one of the banks of the Chepelare river, it is easily accessible and surrounded by scenic landscapes on all sides. The cobbled road leading up to the monastery is lined with market stalls selling trinkets, folk craft, homemade jam, honey and spices. Bachkovo Monastery was founded all the way back in the 11th century, while the area was still part of the Byzantine Empire. It has since been partially destroyed, rebuilt and restored numerous times.
The monastery has its own museum showcasing crucifixes, ceremonial garbs, manuscripts, icons and donated jewelry.
The cathedral in the larger courtyard is called Assumption of the Holy Virgin, with the smaller St. Archangeli church built into its side. The St. Nicholas church is the centerpiece of the southern courtyard.
In the cathedral there is an icon from 1311 known as the Miracle Working Icon of the Holy Virgin, with a silver repousse cover. Our first aim will be to reach and explore the amazing site of Perperikon. It is an archaeological site in Bulgaria that has a long and rich history, spanning from the Thracian civilization (5th century BC to 5th century AD) to the medieval period. It is considered one of the largest and most significant archaeological sites in Bulgaria. The site encompasses a palace complex, a sanctuary, and a fortress and is believed to have been a political, economic, and religious center in the ancient Thracian kingdom. During the medieval period, Perperikon was occupied by the Byzantine Empire and was used as a military fortress to protect the region. The palace has impressive stone structures, including a large hall, a tower, and a courtyard. The sanctuary is believed to have been used for religious and mystical rituals, both in the Thracian and medieval periods.4 hours -Admission Ticket Included2: HaskovoAfter exploring the amazing city of Perperikon we will continue north and will pass through the regional big city - Haskovo. We will stop for a lunch in the city center and will admire the biggest statue of Vergin Marry in the world. the monument has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the tallest statue of the Virgin Mary with the Infant Jesus in the world. The Virgin Mary is the traditional patron saint of Haskovo. The Bulgarian National Revival-time Church of the Holy Mother of God, built from 1832 to 1837, was the first cathedral to be built in Haskovo in modern times.2 hours -Admission Ticket Free3: UzundzhovoOn our way, we will visit a very interesting medieval mosque that was serving one of the biggest comers fair in the Ottoman empire- the one in Uzunzhovo, which was converted into an Orthodox Christian church at the beginning of the XX century. Part of the Caravanserai is still visible next to the church. The place is unique and definitely deserves a visit.1 hour -Admission Ticket Free4: Thracian Tomb of AlexandrovoOur final stop of the day is a masterpiece of ancient art. The Thracian Tomb of Alexandrovo is a well-preserved ancient tomb located near the village of Alexandrovo, Haskovo Province, Bulgaria. It was discovered in 2000 and has been dated to the Hellenistic period, around the 3rd or 2nd century BCE. The tomb is cut into a rock and is comprised of a central chamber and two side chambers. It is famous for its well-preserved frescoes and other decorations, which are considered to be among the finest examples of Thracian art. The frescoes depict scenes of daily life and religious rituals and offer a glimpse into the beliefs and customs of the ancient Thracians.

Under the influence of this medieval experience, we will arrive at a well-known winery cellar where you will taste an exclusive selection of local wines - one of the best productions from the valley of the Thracian kings. The wine could be accompanied by a special lunch (to be paid at the spot) prepared from the sunkissed ingredients of long-kept Bulgarian culinary traditions.
After this, we continue to the symbolic town of Batak where your professional guide will introduce you to one of the most dramatic moments in Bulgarian history. We will stop by the ossuary church which becomes a symbol of heroism for Bulgarian people during the Uprisings against the Ottomans in 1876.
Following such a historical journey in time, we will head to a nearby village where you will enjoy your afternoon tea/coffee break on the shore of the beautiful lake Tsigov Chark. Return to Plovdiv.
