    Zadar, the fifth-largest city in Croatia, boasts a long tradition and a rich cultural heritage. The town is fortified with thick walls, renowned for their impressive ports, such as the Harbor Port and the Mainland Port, which date back to the sixteenth century. Zadar's most impressive sight is the pre-Romanesque Church of St. Donatus.     The Plitvice Lakes are located in the national park of the same name in central Croatia, close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, connected to the Adriatic coast by highway. The sixteen lakes are spread out across a five-mile decline from north to south, with all the lakes connected by waterfalls and tributaries amongst a backdrop of stark karst and beautiful foliage. One of the most popular sights in Croatia, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasting over 1.5 million visitors in 2018 alone.
