Continuing up the mountains with beautiful forest views, we will arrive at the islands most famous and wealthiest monastery - Kykkos. Founded at the end of the 11th century and dedicated to the Virgin Mary. With its impressive gold decoration, paintings and mosaics, the monastery possesses a precious icon of the Virgin Mary painted by the Apostle Luke.

4: Throni Shrine

Following on the peak of the mountain, we will have the opportunity to visit the stunning (Throni tis Panagias) of Kykkos. Well worth it, to experience the wonderful views of the beauty of nature all around; it is here that during long periods of drought, the monks of the nearby Kykkos Monastery used to climb to the top of the mountain, place the Virgin Mary icon on a wooden throne and pray for rain. It is also the location of the tomb of the first President of the Republic of Cyprus Archbishop Makarios III.

Avakas Gorge is part of the European Natura 2000 network. Situated in the south-west part of Akamas Peninsula, Avakas Gorge is the most imposing and famous gorge in Cyprus.

2: Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station

Lara Bay is one of the few remaining havens for loggerhead and green turtles to nest. Aluminium cages are placed over the nests in order to protect small turtles from foxes and enable them to escape to the sea as soon as they emerge from the sand. We here at Pissouri Bay Divers provide experiences to customers who want to feel what its like to breath underwater and behold the sites and marine life in their natural habitat.

The Discover SCUBA Diving (DSD) experience is a 4 hour experience which begins with a small amount of administrative paperwork followed by an introduction into dive theory, here we explain the basics of diving, how to act, what to expect and how we remain safe. Once we have completed the theory we introduce you to the diving equipment and explain how it is used. Following this we head to the sea in one our vehicles. Once in the water we cover some very basic skills and safety procedures before proceeding for a dive. We can expect to be diving and exploring one of our many fantastic dive sites for anytime up to 1 hour.

The Millomeri waterfall is located between Platres and Pera Pedi villages, in the southeastern area of Platres, one kilometer from the beginning of the nature trail leading to the waterfall.The water of Millomeri falls from a height of 15 meters and is one of the highest natural waterfalls on the island.

Until recently, the Millomeri waterfall was not known because its location was not accessible. Today (2018) the waterfall attracts many visitors and tourists with its natural beauty.

One of the two walks is at Vouni Panagias peak (locality) over the village of Pano Panagias. The circular route starts at the village, at an elevation of abt 800 m and ascends to the peak (abt 1,150 m high). The walk is largely on the plateau which is one of the best grape producing spots in Cyprus. Walkers enjoy views of the vineyards, rock formations and vistas towards Ezousa Valley, Xeros Potamos Valley, Paphos Forest and as far as Akamas.

2: Panagia of Sintis

This is one of the 'best' attractions on the island, combining a medieval monastery with a natural environment away from modern settlements. As a rule we walk to the monastery (crossing the stream on going and returning). The customisable (standard) route is about four (4) km long.

3: Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery
