-Nicosia Checkpoint on Ledra Street, on the Green Line
This checkpoint is an outcome of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus on 20 July 1974. Prior to the opening of the checkpoint there was a barricade running through the street, converted to a checkpoint in April 2008, which then became the sixth crossing which connects the 2 sides.
-Eleftheria Square and Town Hall
Eleftheria Square (Freedom Square) intersects all the main shopping streets of Nicosia, such as Ledra and Onassagorou.
-Hamam Omerye (Turkish baths)
Sometimes the traditional way of doing things is best. The Hamam was built in 1570 and is still in use today, as is Omeriye Mosque. Its a great place for relaxation and in 2006 it received the Europa Nostra prize for the Conservation of Architectural Heritage.
-Contemporary Art Museum.
The museum is situated at the Old Electric House building, but it looks brand new. Some of the finest contemporary art comes to life as you ride your own technological marvel.
-Famagusta Gate
This is the largest of all the citys gates. It was built in 1567 by the Venetians, and served travellers entering and leaving the city from the east. It now plays host to art exhibitions and events.
-Ancient Aquaduct, Venetian Walls and Liberty monument
The Liberty monument was erected in 1973 to commemorate the release of freedom fighters in 1959. It stands next to the Venetian Walls and an ancient aquaduct, in an area offering ideal photo opportunities.

It is an interested place to visit, though now going on it is prohibited and can be dangerous.20 minutes -Admission Ticket Free3: Cape Greco View PointCape Greko rock is an omposing mass that can be seen from afar (upto the coastline near Xylofagou. From here one enjoys excellent views of the whole park, the sea and beyond. There at least two different itineraries we can take for the walk. One of them is along the coast all the way whereas the other one passes through here. Usually we choose the later and ascend (and consequently descend) the rock.30 minutes -Admission Ticket Free4: Sea CavesThe Sea Caves of Cape Greko (know by Greek Cypriots as 'Palathkia' or 'Palaces' in English) is a cove with a collection of sea caves and a major attraction in the area. It is thought that in older times (before mass tourism) this was a place used by Monachus monachus seals to give birth and raise the young ones.
There is another collection of Sea Caves near Agia Napa, which is in fact the end of our walking trip. It takes teh guide between 20-30 minutes to retrieve the car. At this time the walkers could explore the sea caves (they include the so called 'Lovers bridge'), visit the nearby beach of Glyky Nero or visit the free open air sculpture museum nearby.20 minutes -Admission Ticket Free5: Agioi Saranta Cave ChurchThis is a very particular cave church in Protaras. The old city of Nicosia is surrounded with walls. These walls were made during the Lusignan period.The walls were made stronger during the Venetian period. At that time there were only 3 Gates to enter the walled city. Kyrenia Gate was one of these gates. The dome of the gate was made during the Ottoman period. The dates and the initals that you see on the gate are from the Colonial period which I will tell you all about during our visit.1 hour -Admission Ticket Free4: The Samanbahce QuaterThis is the area of houses that was built in the 19century for the people who were in need. Later when English came they took the symbol of lion and replaced a'globe' on top of the pillar. It has a mescit in the centre( a praying place) for Moslems. The animals(camels) were staying on the first ground and the people on the upper level. Nowadays it is one of the main attractions of the area with its lace works handcrafts and local tastes for food.
